Stain Woold With Shoe Polish

Craft tip: If you have small pieces of unfinished wood that you would like stained, use liquid shoe polish. The applicator on the top helps keep your hands clean.

Getting Sand Off Your Feet

With the summer coming I thought this would be good to share, to remove any dry or wet sand, put baby powder on sandy feet or legs and wipe with towel. Your feet and legs will come clean and you'll smell nice and fresh.

Utensils on the Counter

To maximize kitchen drawer space, put flat wear in matching or eclectic decorative mugs on countertops, leaving an extra drawer free, and keeping your flat wear handy for constant use. A cut down gatorade bottle (soak off the label) makes a nice holder as well.

Golden Passport For Seniors

If you are senior citizen 65 or older, go to the Corps of Engineers and purchase a Golden Passport. It is a lifetime membership for $15.00. It gives lots of discounts to members. The main savings is you can camp at State Park Campgrounds for half price.

Save Money Eating Out

A wonderful way to cut down on eating out and also to try out new restaurants is to use certificates from Restaurant.com. On their site you can search for restaurants in your area and purchase $25 gift certificates for $12.50. And you don't have to wait for them to be mailed, you print them right out of your computer so you can use them the same night! The $25 certificate is good at the restaurant for dinner in and is taken off the total of your food bill.

Each certificate has different restrictions (ie, cannot be used for beverages, cannot be combined with other coupons, etc). My husband and I use them all the time (you are limited to 1 per restaurant per month but you can use 10 certificates in one month if you want if they are all used at different restaurants). Some have no restrictions and we have used them on the night that the restaurant had "kids eat free w/an adult".

The total for our meal at a really nice Mexican restaurant (family of 4) including tip and the cost of the certificate was $17! We use one at least once a month. They also carry '50% off your total food bill' coupons for around $5.

And here is a super hint...

The same site auctions certificates off on eBay and some you get for less than half to half what you would pay on their web site. It is the only way we eat out!
