Sanitizing is a good thing. I think we all know that. But I have read so many tips about being sure to wash hands after this, that, or the other and it's getting ridiculous. Some things are just common sense to wash after, the bathroom, the doctor's office, gardening, touching animals that don't belong to you, etc.. But other things are just going too far.
I wash my hands in hot soapy water after doing the things above. But other than that, I keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse, a larger one in my car, and one at the house. I use these whenever I feel the need to. But not after touching each and every thing. And I don't fear touching things either, or using items provided for our convenience by stores, banks or other places of business. If I feel they may be a bit germy, I simply use the sanitizer on my hands after using them. I must be doing something right, because I haven't had a cold in years now!
