I have had a tan for many years now. I have tried everything to get rid of it. Should I use lemon juice?

I have a farmer's tan from being out in the sun everyday, I absolutely hate it. I am in the sun everyday, so after my tan fades a little bit, it comes back the next day! I don't like tanning bed, self-tanners or any "product-type stuff," is there any way that I can get my tanned parts to get untanned quicker, so that I can expose the white parts and the tan parts to the sun at the same time? Please let me know, I have a dance coming up, and I really want my tanned skin to be even! I really don't care if my skin is tan, I only want it to be even!

My tans take one year to get rid of. Is there a quicker way to get rid of it because my tan is really ugly. I live in WA and I am the only tan girl at school!

I am a Mexican with really white skin but I took this tan by accident and it doesn't just really go away. I miss my skin tone and I want it back soon. I'm not sure of lemon juice, it may work. I don't know.

I go to school and I wear a lot of tank tops. I have half tan arms and the rest of my body is white. How can I remove the tan arms to have my white skin back? If you know please tell me because I really hate it at the moment :(

I am 19, when I was younger I used to get sun tanned a lot, my entire body... red and raw. The last time I got a tan was 2 or 3 years ago. I hardly go in the sun now and I always wear SPF and my tan has not completely faded away, there's a HUGE difference between the skin on my face and my scalp. I am naturally pale and I'm wondering if it's ever going to fade completely? A lot of areas on my body still look uneven. I just want my old skin back : (

I'm having the same problem but probably worse. I'm Asian *Vietnamese* and I play tennis. I get heaps of tans from playing too much tennis. So I think I'm screwed. I don't think I can turn back into being a white person again.

*My tan is really, bad!* i don't even look like an Asian any more. =[

You can try this; while you are in the shower, (before you put soap on) use lemon slices and rub it around the part where you want to become less dark for about 1-2 minutes. Rinse, and then soap, and finish your shower.

It's not that I don't want to be tan, but I have light red-gold hair that just doesn't look right on me with a tan.

I'm white and tan. I tan way too easily and I have to be in the sun every day 4 p.e. I cant cover up that much because San Diego is so hot! I need to get rid of my tan because I'm gonna bleach my hair very light in 2 weeks, and I don't wanna look silly! It's not too dark but I really wanna be lighter. What do I do?

Man, I have a tan too. I hate it because my legs, arms, and face are darker than the rest of my body. I want to be my old color again. When I tan I usually turn a reddish color b/c of the native american in me....but normally I am a normal light skin black girl. I miss my old butter pecan color... lol :P

Hi there, I am very pale (it is natural, and no I do not look ill) but had a farmer's tan on my arms. So these are some things I did to get rid of it.A) milk. I know, I know, it sounds ridiculous! But just applying milk on the skin for about fifteen minutes before you shower does lighten it over time.B)Lemon juice and cucumbers. The acid in the lemons helps the dead skin by come off quicker. Lemon juice is also good for your skin, it makes it softer and it smells pretty good.C)

Exfoliation. I used St. Ives Apricot Scrub, there are a lot of beads in it and it helped to remove the tan quickly. Using all of these methods together should work, and you will see progress within a week or two.A more drastic method is using a bit of hydrogen peroxide in the area you want to lighten. I do NOT recommend this at all, but if you do it, don't leave it on for more than a minute because it is not good for the skin, okay? Unfortunately though, this method works fast. I did not do it, but I have seen others who have.

I really want my tan to go away before I go to a new school. I want to be ''the white girl'' again. Any suggestions?

I am half Asian and Italian and I have the same problem. However my tan is very very slowly starting to fade finally (It's taken a year)

Lemon juice in a hot bath and exfoliation it may take a while but you'll slowly even out.

I think Asians might just hold tan longer than others. My mother doesn't really have the same problem but my father does. He has a deep farmers tan really bad.

I really hate my tan. My natural skin color is white, not brown. Please tell me what's the quickest way to get rid of a tan.

You see I miss being called a white boy. I've heard of lemon juice and using sun block, but how fast will it make my tan go away? I hate my tan, and me and my brother want to be whiter. He doesn't tan good, he just turns pink, and he's starting to look a little brown; while I tan pretty good. (Unfortunately)

Hi, my natural skin color is yellowish, but my arms and face are brown. my stomach, legs and bumbs are yellow, and my back. How can I honestly get rid of the extra brown on my face and arms? it is really distressing me of being brown on the arms and face, and then yellow all over my other body! I'd rather not tan it out evenly, I want to have the light look, not brown....so any advice please? Any creams, medically proven to help over long term? Anything? I am 18 and a guy. lol

thnx...

I got a tan this summer and I've been wanting to get rid of it because I don't like it. I am naturally very pale. I recommend staying out of the sun and using a VERY high SPF. Also, exfoliate with a lufa sponge. Doing all of this for a month has made my tan only 1/2 as dark. ^_^

If you've had this "tan" for years and haven't been spending much time in the sun, discuss with your doctor. If you stay "tan" even during the winter months, could be a sign of Addison's disease.

I also have a tan (farmer's tan) that I have had for almost a whole year. I have been wearing tank tops or long sleeved tops all summer and it is fading s l o w l y. A tan is caused by sun DAMAGE. If you have had it for years - go see a dermatologist for a sun damage and skin cancer test just to be sure. Around here, there are free clinics offered once in a while. But don't be too cheap with your health. Go sooner rather than waiting. Ask a doctor to be sure you are healthy.

If you stay out of the sun and use sunscreen with a high SPF, your tan should fade in a few weeks or months. If it doesnt, that may be the color of your skin. Do you have olive skin tones?

Ten minutes of sunlight per day on your forearms is all most people need to get their vitamin D.
I am "pasty white" and I plan to stay that way. I am 29 and my skin looks the same as it did ten years ago.
If you protect yourself with sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc. and are still tan perhaps it really is your natural skin tone. Moisturise and revel in it.

Stay out of the sun and always use high SPF sunscreen. A tan always fades.

if it has been there all this time yes i agree it is your skin. i know some people can go outside for 10 or 15 mins and they get a tan. always use sunscreen.

i hope you aren't trying to avoid the sun to get rid of your tan. so many people are vitamin d deficient due to the scare tactics the sun screen people use.
unless you are absolutely baked to a crisp i would think your tan would be flattering. people that don't/can't tan would give their right arm to tan!
folks that are pasty white look like they are ill.

the only way to avoid a tan is to stay out of sunlight or use chemical lighteners (which soak into your bloodstream through the skin and are not good for you)

If you've had it for years, perhaps it is your natural skin color?

The only way to really get rid of a tan is to stay out of the sun or always, always use high SPF sunscreen.
