You could go with a fun, saturated bright color like orange or hot pink. Go cooler with a nice green or just the right purple. Do a nice monochromatic look with lighter shades of blue. The possibilities are endless. Whatever you do, you can pull it together with accessories, wall art and fabrics. The grey carpet is certainly neutral and shouldn't hinder anything you choose to do with the wall color.
