Asian Theme Wedding
Trying to capture a theme for a wedding is task full. I wanted an Asian theme for my wedding and it was difficult finding the appropriate dresses for my Bridal party. Instead, I had a friend of mine who made them from scratch.
The Groom and groomsmen had tuxedos with mandarin collars. I even had the florist create a bamboo flower basket.

Christmas Wreath from Reusing Materials
Here is a photo of a large wreath I made for our back porch. I used a big hula hoop then attached branches from our old artificial Christmas tree. I went around one direction using the branches from the bottom 2 sections of the tree and alternated them.
I attached them with duck tape I tore into 1 inch by 7 inch wide strips. I then went back around the other direction with the branches from the upper parts of the tree to cover the duck tape and wire prongs. I poofed it out as I went and then added the bow.
I do plan to get a much larger bow when the after Christmas sales hit, but I think it turned out nice for basically free:) well other then replacing my kids' hoola hoop!

Puppy with Nike Swish
My seven month old puppy has a "Nike Sign" on the back of her neck. I thought it would be funny to take a picture of her chewing on a pair of "Reebok" shoes and sending the picture to the Nike company. Sorry I don't have any tips just thought some of you might get a kick out of it.

Organizing with Wooden Crates
Here is a picture of how I organized "some" of my cookbooks. When I was at our grocery store last fall they had these crates sitting out for their pumpkin display. I asked if they'd sell me some. They said I could have 2 for $2.50 each. I wasn't really sure what I would do with them but I brought them home, stacked them and attached them together with ties. Then poof a little cute country shelf that I love.

Making Colored Bath Salts Recipe
Beautiful and cheap bath salts for any occasion.
- Supplies needed:
- Hot glue gun (optional)
- Scrap material (optional)
- Food coloring
- Any type of jar or bottle with lid (dollar stores have really neat ones)
- Ziplock baggies
- Ribbon (optional)
- Epsom salts (can be bought anywhere for about 2.00 for 5 lbs.)
- Scented oils, perfume, vanilla, extracts, etc. (optional)
Put 1 cup of epsom salts in each baggie depending on how many colors you want. Add food coloring about 10 drops less or more to desired color and close and shake. If you want to add scent to it add that too, sparingly.
When you have made enough to fill your container just funnel in and layer and even tilt your bottle for a cool effect. You can glue cloth over your ball jar after trimming with pinking shears or just leave plain. A ribbon and gift tag makes it complete.
These are so easy and also fun for the kiddos. This makes a great project for the kids holiday classroom parties too.

Editor's Note: Although we've mentioned it before, Freecycle is a great resource for giving away or getting items that people are letting go. For those of you in financial difficulties this year, post what you need on Freecycle.

Different Colored Clothes Basket
I found a great time-saving tip for laundry day. I use different colored baskets for different loads of laundry, ie: white basket-white clothes, red basket-bright clothes, blue for dark clothes, and green for hubby's work clothes. This is so easy my 4 year old can sort her own dirty clothes, and on laundry day I do not have to sort before throwing the clothes into the washer.

Buying Essential Oils at a Good Price
Can someone tell me where to buy the essential oil at a good price? All of the sites that I have checked are very expensive. Also, do you add water to the alcohol and essential oil when making the berger lamp fuel?

How Can You Tell if Cotton Poly Fabric Will Fade
How can you tell if cotton poly interlock fabric will fade when you are at the fabric store?
And by fade, I mean that in spite of washing the garment inside out in cold water, then drip drying, it still fades the background color. Thanks.

Looking for Big Tender Sugar Cookie Recipe
I am looking for a sugar cookie recipe, not just any sugar cookie. When I was a teen (many, many years ago), my mother bought large decorated sugar cookies from a local woman. They were Santa heads about 1/2 inch thick, moist not crispy and had a really really good flavor. I have tried several recipes, but haven't found one that tastes like these. Anyone have a recipe that makes a delicious, tender cookie? Thanks in advance :)

The Norfolk Pine - A Perfect Living Tree for the Holidays
By Ellen Brown If you're looking for the perfect potted Christmas tree, consider the Norfolk Pine. They have soft, compact needles, a naturally symmetrical shape and they come in a variety of sizes-small enough for a table-top display in the kitchen or hall, or large enough to be the focal point of a large room. Best of all, they are easy to grow, and make a beautiful indoor tree all year long.
