Thank you.

Contact your local police department and or a local Crisis Center for Domestic Violence. Old cell phones can be reprogrammed to allow 911 calls only (with no service charges to the new recipients) and most local concerns know how to make this happen. Good for you to ask about an alternative to tossing old phones in the trash!
Our local postoffice has prepaid envelopes in which you can put a cell phone to be donated. You might check your post office.
You can take them to any domestic violence center and they can be donated to overseas soldiers programs. You could Google it for the info. Also, Target stores have a red bin near the service desk for used cell phones, MP3 players, and ink cartridges.
I sale mine at a yard sale. But if you want to give it away then try asking someone at church if they need one or maybe your minister might know of some one. Good will would like it also they sale everything to make money for the things they do for others,Also some of the humane scieties have stores where they sale all kinds of things to make money to help feed the dogs.
Near you is a YWCA and if you call, they will know where the woman's domestic violence shelter is. Make sure and get rid of all personal info on the phone such as numbers of relatives. Oh, don't forget the charger!
Many school collect old cell phones and printer cartridges for recycling. Some police departments collect them as well and give them to eldery for 911 calls.
I gave my old cell phone to a police ranger who was collecting them where he worked to use for abused and battered women shelters in the city.
There is cellphonesforsoldiers.com it recycles phones and uses the money for phone cards for our soilders over seas. They even have local drop areas at participating companies.
I would like to know how I donate used cell phones.
