- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. black beans
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 3 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
- 1/2 cup cilantro, coarsely chopped
- 2 cups water
Rinse beans and drain. Place in large saucepan. Add chicken broth and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Boil for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Reduce heat. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender. Add water as needed. 6-8 servings.
