Recipe: Apple Spice Bread

This bread is so delicious and great to have for when company comes. It makes two loaves. If you do not need both you can freeze one for later. I think this is my favorite bread out of all my bread recipes!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. 2 layer size yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg. small vanilla instant pudding
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil (or applesauce)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Optional Items:
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 8x4 in loaf pans.

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Blend well. Then for 4 minutes beat at medium speed with mixer. Pour into pans and bake 50-55 minutes. Bake until tooth pick comes out clean, and bread begins to pull away from the sides.

Cool in pans 15 minutes, then remove and finish cooling on rack. Enjoy!
