Every Friday I make pizza. I figure this saves $25 or over every week.
Dough:
This make 2 pizzas.
- 2 cups water
- 2 Tablespoons oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 cups flour
- 2 Tablespoons yeast (2 packets)
I use this in my bread machine but I'm sure it could be adapted to a traditional recipe or you can buy white bread dough in the freezer section cheap.
Sauce:
- 10 1/2 oz tomato purree
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
Bring all ingredients to boil then simmer on low for 15 minutes stirring occasionaly.
When sauce and dough are ready put:
1/2 lb grated mozzarella and sprinkle evenly with parmesan cheese. Then add any other toppings you like.
