Beef Stew Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2-3 lbs. lean beef stew meat
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 cup celery (more, if desired)
  • 8 carrots
  • 1 can tomato sauce (regular size)
  • 1 can mushrooms, drained
  • peas, drained (optional)

Directions:

Dice carrots and celery. Butter casserole. Place all ingredients, except mushrooms, in and mix. Bake at 250 degrees F. for 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Add mushrooms for the last hour, and cover casserole.
