Make a Bathroom Vanity from an Old Dresser Use an old dresser to make a vanity for your bathroom. I crackled this one and then also did some sanding to bring out the gold, as this was the basecoat. Then I stenciled over the top and poly coated it.

Rate It: Gracie is a 1 year old Pitbull. She was gotten from the local animal shelter. She loves to run and play and tear up her stuffed animals and other toys! In this particular picture, Gracie was on the way home from her first long road trip. She was a little tired, can you tell? By Robin from Washington, IA Editor's Note: Here is a previous picture of Gracie

Rate It: Successfully Replanted Rose Of Sharon We always had bad luck replanting others free give-a-ways to us. My daughter gave us this Rose of Sharon tree and we talked and watered daily and guess what? Success and a beautiful plant from her yard to mine. Now, when I go and see my little flower garden, I see the tree of love and success again? Don't give up...

Rate It: My hubby recently had surgery. Instead of buying the expensive gauzes and tapes for changing bandages, use panty liners or thin maxi pads, keeping the paper on the sticky side. Use roll tape from a pharmacy to hold in place. The panty liners are like $2.00 a box of 20, versus $10 for 2 plastic bandages. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf25648873.tip.html

Rate It: Use Church Bulletins for Free Ads If your church issues a monthly church bulletin to each of it's members, utilize it. A local pal put an free ad in it for 'Free Firewood' thinking she might have a couple of people show up for it. No, she said she had enough people show up that her whole lot was cleared and one fellow literally swept the ground for kindling, in the end! She said she'd most certainly do this again and she wasn't out the money for the cost, as if she'd have put the ad in the local newspaper. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf96000091.tip.html

Rate It: Mail Organizers for Storing Baking Sheets I use mail organizers to store my baking sheets. They come in plastic and stainless steel. I use the stainless steel and they do give a bit if the sheet is a little too deep for it to fit. That way they are all stored upright and easy to access. The mail organizers are usually around 10 bucks apiece. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf38443219.tip.html

Rate It: Credit Card Fees in Foreign Countries If you're fortunate enough to travel overseas, first check with your credit card company about any daily fees and what their policy is on the Monetary Exchange Rate. (Ex.: Some friends recently used their credit card overseas for their card's "reward" program. Upon returning home their bills started coming in, they realized for each credit card transaction overseas there was an extra fee. PLUS the monetary exchange rate varied from day to day. It might be easier to carry Traveler's Cheques and do the currency conversion upon entering each country, thereby avoiding the fees and the fluctuating exchange rate. Rate It: I used to have a small bought gel-type deodorizer in my car that was "raspberry tea" scent. When it ran out, I washed out the container and kept it. A few weeks later my daughter commented that the car was stinky. I had been cleaning my cupboards and had found a couple of old cans of loose tea leaves. I had tried making the tea and drinking it but it wasn't very tasty any more. So I dumped the leaves (about 1/4 cup or 100 cc) into the deodorizer container and put it in the car. The next day, no smell! It has been there for three months and the car still doesn't smell. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf75127107.tip.html

Rate It: Starting a Garden with Cuttings from Friends and Family If you're wanting to landscape your property, but not wanting to spend a lot of money doing so, alert your family, friends, fellow church members, co-workers, etc., if they're going to be having any spares of plants, flower bulbs, flower or plant seeds, graftings from trees, etc. to let you know, that you'll be happy to take them off your hands. You might even get a gift card from one of your local nurseries for a birthday, house warming gift, Christmas gift, etc. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf521125.tip.html

Any ideas on how to get rid of ant hills in the lawn? This year my Mom and I both have really bumpy lawns, and we both seem to have been overrun with ants. I would like to be as natural as possible. I have tried hot water but they just seemed to come back. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf68135385.tip.html

Rate It: Removing Tape Residue from Microfiber Upholstery To keep my two kittens from scratching my almost-new microfiber couches, I covered certain sections with double sided sticky tape. The package said it won't damage upholstery, but as I try to remove it, it leaves a scummy layer. It seems to be taking off some of the fuzzy stuff on the microfiber. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thank you so much for your help. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf45161097.tip.html

Rate It: Ice Maker Not Working After Repairman Left I just had my refrigerator fixed. After the technician left, the ice-maker was not working. My home owners warranty does not cover the repair for the ice-maker, the technician is telling me, that if he comes out to service it, the cost will start with $95 for the call, and then he can't say what he will have to replace. Can anyone offer advice? Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf67928715.tip.html

Rate It: Using White Kitchen Sink with Beige Cabinets I am building a new country/cottage style kitchen.
