The more sun my callas are in, the more they bloom. Don't get many blooms in the shade. Deep shade the problem?

Hello Calla Lilies love the morning sun the most and you can not over water them. Try putting some osmocote around the bottom of the plant but not too much.
I am having problems with something eating my calla's leaves, and no blooms. Is it the sandy soil? I had no problems in Ohio.
