Inexpensive Candle Holders For Receptions

Pretty candleholders don't have to cost a fortune. For my son's wedding I bought 2/$1 glass candlesticks and 2/$1 fancy votive holders at Dollar General and HOT GLUED the votive cup onto the candlestick base and they looked beautiful with votive candles inside.

Another inexpensive candle idea is to purchase a small round FISHBOWL at Dollar General ($1 each) and a clear votive cup which flares out at the top. This will sit nicely on the inside rim of the bowl. Partially fill the fishbowl underneath with water with small flowers floating or clear pebbles - use your imagination. Put a candle in the votive and this is beautiful.

Another variation to this fishbowl design is to cut designs (from baby wrapping paper, wedding paper, etc. or copy photos and using paper glue sticks, glue them on the front side of the design and arrange them to the inside of the fishbowl so that it shows through. If uses this method, however, you can't put water inside the bowl. The glue will dry clear. This is a nice way to personalize a candle holder for the occasion.
