Putting Fruit on a Pewter Tray

Can we put fruits on a pewter tray?

You can serve fruit on pewter, but it looks better and will last longer if you cover the platter with green leaf lettuce first. Put the ruffled edge on the outside of the platter and the center pointing in to the middle. Very nice apperance.
