Simon (Standard Dachshund)

Simon is a 3 year old Dachshund (standard.) I got Simon when he was barely 8 weeks old.

He loves to chase the laser light and sleep in my lap.

When he thinks he isn't getting enough attention, he will sit up and talk and talk and talk unil you notice him.

Today's Tips

Saving Money at Restaurants

Drink Water

When eating out in restaurants, I choose to drink water as my beverage. Everyone is supposed to drink several glasses of water a day. So I'm getting in my quota and I save a few bucks with each meal by doing so.

Share Food

To save dollars when dining out, opt for water with lemon rather than a soft drink. In one year, at $1.59 per dinner, cola/ice tea for two ordered once a week (with 6% tax) comes to just over $170.00. Surprised? it DOES add up!

Share salad if it's ala carte.

Many places offer the same meals for lunch as dinner at a lesser price. Consider opting for lunch out and light supper at home

Consider sharing salad, appetizer and one entree between two people. Skip or share dessert.

Use coupons often found in newspapers for 2 for one meals.

Please do NOT scrimp in gratuity though. Servers work hard and here are paid HALF minimum wage.

Washcloth Instead of Dish Rag

I have found that using a thick, well-wrung washcloth works very well as a dishrag. Use it to clean crumbs off counter tops. The crumbs stick to the washcloth and fewer are knocked to the floor. A washcloth is also good to spot wipe the kitchen floor.

Review of GooGone Spray Gel

My name is Jackie, and I own a cleaning business in which I clean empty apartments after people have moved out. I have never been able to find a quick and effective way to clean the worst imaginable bathtubs, UNTIL NOW! I have just discovered the absolute "MAGIC BULLET" of all times!

I picked up a bottle of GooGone Spray Gel to have on hand for other gooey messes. And today I used it on the bathroom tile to get some residue off. As I was using it, I sprayed some on the "tub scum" just to see what would happen and BAM it came off in a flash!

I have never been so impressed with a product! I am THE newest poster child for this product! Thank you Magic American Products for making my life 100% easier with GooGone Spray Gel!

Mom and Dads Helping Their Children Save

If you have a teenagers who do part time work along with the chores at home. They make up to twenty five dollars per week, if you could kick in with them a few more dollars, you could start them off for the future. I did this with my two sons.

Contact a agent who has the smarts in the investment field. They can put away $25.00 per month. At first they won't like the idea.
But in a year they will get interest and dividends, after that they will save much more.

I started my sons of with a $25.00 per month account. After years go by and they see how it grows, you won't be able to stop them.

I put my boys through college and the little things
they wanted they had the money to help them get through. Never once did any of my boys come back to me for a loan. It was there if they needed it.

Now in the later years they both are married and had enough money to buy their own homes, never once asking us for anything. They both have good jobs and we are very proud of them.

Uses for Baby Wipes

I have seen couple of great ideas for using baby wipes and I have a couple of my own I would like to share. I keep a pack of store brand ones in my car for quick cleanup of sticky hands, face etc. I also take along a pack or tub of them when we go to the river in summer for get togethers (my family has a lot of those), I have even used them to wipe down the inside of my car, makes it smell real nice. Breakfast Plate Warmer

While preparing breakfast items (eggs, toast, etc.) rather than use the oven to warm serving plates, use the top of the, "Mr. Coffee" or other, as a plate warmer. Saves energy, time and money.

Slick Texture After Coloring Hair

I have been coloring my hair since it has started turning gray. I don't like the texture of my hair for about a week or longer after I've colored it. The dye makes it very slick without any body. I can't even keep it in a ponytail because the slick texture causes the elastic to slip right off! I don't have thin hair really. Anybody have a suggestion on how to avoid this slick texture after coloring? After about two weeks it feels normal, then in two more weeks it's time to color it again.
