What is an Asynchronous Generator?

A type of electric generator that produces alternating current that matches an existing power source.

An Asynchronous Generator is one that does not require its rotational speed to be an exact pre-determined RPM. It's useful in windturbines where changes in the wind velocity cause the propeller rpm to change.
