Friends and Overspending

If you tend to overspend when shopping with a certain friend, you might want to either go alone next time. Also, "just browsing" tends to lead to overspending. Think to yourself if you really need this item? Do you have a certain or specific place for the item? Or will it get shoved back in a drawer or closet only to gather dust? Thinking this way, works for me.

A good friend should help you not to overspend by pointing out if something really suits you or not. I would take a good friend for shopping.

The same goes for shopping in the grocery store just to "kill" time. I do not remember the statistic for time vs. money spent but the longer we are in a store the more money we will spend. Do you notice the way that the grocery stores are set up...milk, meat, bread and vegetables are at the back of the store. We have to travel through the rest of the store to get to the essentials. I do like having a short time limit when shopping and then I get only what I need today and nothing else.

The only way to browse successfully without overspending is to browse when you have no money on your person.
