Recipes Using Flavored Powder Coffee Creamers

I was wondering if there are recipes which use the flavored powdered coffee creamers? I had a coupon for a free bottle but I don't drink coffee. I thought since there are so many different flavors maybe someone has creative ideas for including them in something other than coffee.

Thanks,
Denise from Nebraska

Anyone Know the Starter For Amish Friendship Bread Recipe?

A month ago my daughter gave my husband Hank and I a ziplock bag filled with a starter called "Friendship Bread". With it came a recipe on how to make it. It was delicious! Anyway, I let my starter die and I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to make this? I would assume I would need to know how to make the starter.

Thank you and have a great day!

Soup Kitchen Needs Help Utilizing Excess Food Commodities

I am involved with a soup-kitchen type of ministry in Mexico. They receive donations of food from the states and currently they have an over abundance of the following foods: Canned spinach, matzo meal (Jewish type), and catchup. None of these foods are foods that the average Mexican would eat and so we are trying to disguise them or make them into something palatable. They have tried adding the spinach to soup and even making a quiche type breakfast with it. Does anyone have any suggestions or can anyone recommend any websites that might deal with commodities such as these?

Coffee Spoons

Ingredients

  • chocolate chips
  • mini marshmallows
  • multi-colored sprinkles
  • plastic spoons

Directions

Melt the chips in the microwave. Pour some into the bowl of a spoon. Press some marshmallows into the chocolate. Add a dash of sprinkles. Let sit overnight in a cool place. These are easier to make one at a time so the chocolate won't harden before you can press the marshmallows in.

Variation: use white chocolate, crushed candy canes, and chocolate sprinkles.

This is a good way to use up leftover bits of this and that. Put several in a plastic bag and tie with a pretty ribbon. Makes a nice little gift by itself or with a coffee mug.

Source: This recipe is my own. I came up with it one night when I needed some little Christmas gifts and had nothing but little bits left in my kitchen.

Addicting Chocolate Chip Cookies

The secret ingredient in these soft cookies is Coffee! Coffee adds that extra "something" to chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-1/2 tsps. instant coffee
  • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (12 oz.) bag Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter with the sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla, and instant coffee. Combine the rest of the dry ingredients by placing them in a plastic container with a lid and shaking them. Then gradually add the dry ingredients, beating them into the butter mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Roll dough into ping pong size balls with your palms and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes, then place cookies on a cooling rack until almost cooled. (the chocolate chips shouldn't be hard when you place them into your cookie jar if you like a soft cookie). The flavor combines overnight, so they are even better the second day.

Makes 15 to 18 servings
