Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Place first 4 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil. Pour over the flour and sugar that have been measured out in a mixing bowl. Mix well. Add buttermilk, cinnamon, eggs, and vanilla. Mix and pour into greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. While still warm, frost with:
- 6 Tbsp. margarine
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 4 Tbsp. milk
Bring to boil, stirring. add nearly 1 lb. (2 c.) powdered sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread evenly over hot cake. Makes 30 bars.
