Removing Fireplace Odors From a House

I have a wood burning fireplace. When its not burning there is a smell of old burning wood in my living room. How do I get rid of the smell?

RE: Removing Fireplace Smoke Odors From a House

I had a similar challenge. I couldn't believe burning an Oust scented oil candle did the trick. I used Outdoor Fresh scent. Plus, I dusted and vacuumed since soot settles on all surfaces. (12/24/2006)
