Kitty Litter Tip with Mya and Max

To keep clumping kitty litter from sticking to the bottom of the pan, spray it with non-stick cooking spray before adding the litter. It works like a charm!!

These are my babies, Mya (left) and Max (right). They are spoiled rotten and totally inseparable. Anytime I take a picture of them it looks as if they're always hugging. Actually in this picture, Max took time out from attacking Mya to pose for a picture. Hes such a bratty little brother!

Today's Tips

Carry a Laundry Basket in Your Car

I had someone tell me to carry a large, STURDY laundry Basket in your car and when you go shopping place bags in laundry basket. Then when you get home, just carry the basket in . Not 3 or 4 trips to the car. Don't forget to take it back to the car for next trip.

Changing a Fuse In The Dark

If your house use fuses, keep some fuses near your fuse box so you can easily find them if the lights are out. Always keep a flashlight in the same place so that it is easy to find when the lights are out. You can put luminous tape or glow in the dark stickers on the flashlight so it's easier to find in the dark. Also consider having your fuse box replaced with a breaker box.

Check the Date When Buying Dairy

When buying dairy at the grocery store, be sure to check the "use by" or "sell buy" date on the packaging. If the date is not to your liking, grab a carton of milk from the back of shelf. The same goes for any dairy products. There is no sense is buying products that will go bad before you can use them.

Keeping Animals Out of Trash

It just takes one stray dog to create a big mess for you. A bungie cord securing the lid should prevent trash from spilling out if an animal tips it over. As a deterrent, fill a spray bottle with ammonia and spray the outside of the can every few days. The smell of ammonia should encourage the critter to find a nicer smelling garbage can.

Getting Dishes Unstuck

When two dishes are stuck, one nested in the other, pour cold water in the top dish while dipping the bottom dish in warm water. The warm water will make the bottom dish expand while the top dish contracts. Works with glasses and bowls.

Coca-Cola Cure for Rust

Forget those expensive rust removers. Just saturate an abrasive sponge with Coca Cola and scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the coke is what gets the job done.

Cut Down on Static From Carpet

To cut down on those annoying static shocks from walking on your carpet, mix 1 part fabric softener to 5 parts water in a clean spray bottle. Put the spray bottle on its widest setting and spray your carpet with a light mist.

Washing Dishes Joke

John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Virginia.

After spending a great evening chatting the night away, John's grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, "Are these plates clean?"

His grandfather replied, "They're as clean as cold water can get them. "Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!"

For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, "Are you sure these plates are clean?"

Without looking up the old man said, "I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don't you fret, I don't want to hear another word about it!"

Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather's dog started to growl, and wouldn't let him pass. John yelled and said, "Grandfather, your dog won't let me get to my car"..

Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted ... "COLDWATER, GO LAY DOWN!"

Take the "Slip" out of Slipcovers

This is a way you can make a slipcover for furniture that doesn't slip. Use the dollar store version of barkeepers shelf liner, the kind of a rubbery web usually found on a roll. Lay this on cushions and along the back head rest, then add slipcover. No more slip.

Pit Bull Driving Me Mad

I am in need of advice. I have two Pit Bulls. one of them is 3 years old and has no problems at all. I got her when she was only 5 weeks old, but the other is approximately 1 year and a large male. I haven't had any problems training any of the pits I have owned but this one seems to be a whole different story.

He wont stop chewing the couches, getting on counters, urinating in the house whether we are home or not. We tried the crate but after 3 weeks to no avail (he doesn't stop barking... ever, if he is in it). I am a rescue/helper of the breed, please, i need someone's help.
