Two Hour Buns

Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk, scalded
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/4 Tbsp. lukewarm water
  • 3 1/2 cups flour

Directions

Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Heat and then cool to lukewarm. Add yeast dissolved in water. Add egg and stir in flour to make soft dough. Cover and let rise two hours or until doubled. Shape into buns or rolls. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F or until golden.
