My black short pants have greenish spots after washing. Any idea how I can make them black again? I would appreciate some advice.

Greenish spots... under the zipper. Brass zipper maybe, or zipper made of brass and silvery metal crimped together? It might be copper oxide. This is easily removed with a mixture of table salt and vinegar.

Well have got the results finally. The colour is not matchable with the cotton pants though, but I'm not giving up yet :), Any other suggestions is much welcome. Oh ya, I can't do the patching because it's right under the zipper. :(

Thanks a lot guys. Just tried the black marker this morning and have also re-washed it. Now waiting for the dried out result. Hopefully it works.

You can also try glueing patches over the spots. Something you may like such as flowers or even sew buttons. I tried the magic marker and it didn't look right on the garment I was working with. You will need patches and glue such as OK to Wash It, or Patch Attach and follow directions. Hope this may help.
