I worked at a restaurant in GA where we made wraps (sandwiches) with different flavors of wraps (outside like tortillas). They were spinach, tomato, wheat, etc. When looking online I find flour tortillas and sandwich wraps but none of the other outside wraps. Does anyone know where I can find these recipes?

Use a flour tortilla recipe. For part of the liquid, substitute some veggies (one kind only) that have been liquified in the blender. Spinach, tomato, carrot, you get the idea. Then roll the tortillas out and bake on a dry skillet. You can control the color by how much of the veggie you put in. Have fun experimenting!

I've recently started working for a coffee shop that sells different flavored wraps. Not what's in it but the wrap itself. Spinach, tomato basil, jalapeno cheddar, herb, and wheat are the flavors we have. Does anyone know how to make these or know where to get them without having to go through the big companies like they do? Jeggie from Elberton, GA

RE: Flavored Wraps

Walmart sells a product near their bakery department called "Flatout" that sounds like what you are looking for. We love them. Last weekend I took their Italian Herb flavor, spread cream cheese on it, layered (de-greased) pepperoni on the cream cheese, then made a line of green olives on one end. I rolled the whole thing up around. Wrap them in plastic and place in the refrigerator for awhile. They slice beautifully if you want to cut them in half or into pinwheels. This is just one idea of MANY we have tried. Ham and provolone cheese w/gerkins pickles is very good also. Not to mention turkey and swiss. You get the idea! (03/03/2006)

RE: Flavored Wraps

The Hispanic groceries here in Dallas carry flavored tortillas. They are quite large and I remember them coming in a spicy salsa flavor and spinach. We made wraps with them when we went camping, and they worked great. Donna (03/03/2006)

go to http://www.recipezaar.com and type in 139929 for your flour tortilla recipe. Tomato powder, spinach powders etc can be purchased at Bakers Catalogue.com . Good Luck. Tortillas are really easy to make and lots of fun ! (03/03/2006)
