Making Lavender Oil

Can I use year old dried lavender for making lavender oil?

This is what came up when I did a search: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=ma ... mp;toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8

The 2nd one down (ehow.com) looks pretty basic. I have a lavender bush and use mine to make lavender shortbread cookies, and sachets. I never thought to make my own oil. Good luck!
