Have things in your house to get rid of? Need items? Have you tried http://www.freecycling.org? It is a website all over the US where people are giving stuff away, just have to pick it up. I was amazed there was even a group in my small town. You can also ask for items here. All items are FREE!!!! I just found the site and love it. Lots of useful items and a good way to get rid of the clutter in your house.

Have you ever bought a body spray, but later found you didn't like the scent? Instead of throwing it out or selling it for a quarter at your next garage sale, save it. Body sprays contain some alcohol, and the alcohol in them can help dissolve ink stains on clothing or other surfaces. This tends to give you instant results with no soaking needed, but wash clothing item right away before another stain sets from the dissolved ink. Careful on painted surfaces, as you may damage the paint finish. Always test any stain remover on inconspicuous areas first.

Fun Wall Sculpture from Old Record Albums
Still have a bunch of those old record albums and 45's hanging around? Well, here is a fun sculpture you can make for your wall. First get some two by two and make your self a simple box with two cross members in the center. Now the fun part. With a screwdriver and some screws start placing your albums on the frame. Layer them so you can still read the label. Once you have put the first layer on you can then use liquid silicone or Liquid nails to put on the next layers. Now you get to decide if you want them as a record sculpture as is or if you want to paint the whole thing with spray paint in a funky color. You could make the whole thing look like stone and give it texture by spraying with stone spray paint. You could also spray with ceiling texture and paint.

Pretty Garden Bench from Bed Frame and Coffee Table
Need a place to sit and relax in your garden? Here is a great way to recycle and reuse a headboard and a old coffee table. Find a great looking single or twin headboard. and a old coffee table at a yard sale. Cut off the legs of the headboard and attach with L brackets to the coffee table. Paint your new bench with outdoor paint to protect the wood. You can also make a cushion for this by covering some foam and Velcroing it to the seat.

To keep shoes smelling fresh(er), fill the foot portion of an old pair of nylons with baking soda and stuff into the shoes when not being worn. Makes a big difference!

When my daughter was first born, I spent a small fortune on diaper creams and name-brand baby powder (she's prone to diaper rash). She would still get a diaper rash every so often, even though I used the creams with every diaper change. When circumstances forced me to cut back on my expenses, I began using corn starch (from the baking dept.) and pure petroleum jelly (vaseline) from the dollar-store. She has not had a single diaper rash in 4 months! Not only is it much, much cheaper, I think having fewer chemicals against her sensitive skin is much healthier (and really - who is going to get close enough to a baby's butt to smell that baby powder scent?!)

I remember as a kid hanging from the towel racks in our bathroom. We would eventually pull them out of the walls.
In my kids bathroom, I just use simple hooks bought at the buck store. They can't hang from them, and it is a lot easier for my kids to actually hang their towels up too.
It doesn't look half bad either!!

Do You Know Your Portion Sizes?
Do you really know your portion sizes? Over the years, I seem to have developed a "super sized" mentality. I recently began measuring out food in what I thought were standard amounts. I found that my idea of a pound of hamburger is really closer to 1 1/2 pounds, and a "cup" (8 oz) of liquid turned out to be 12 oz! For the next few weeks, I will measure out everything to gain a proper perspective again. My budget and my waistline will thank me for it!

If you have an infant and feed him infant cereal you know how difficult it can be to get all the cereal out of those silly boxes without spilling and wasting it. Just pour it into a freezer bag or tupperware when you get home and you don't have to worry about waste! It's expensive enough!

I hung an old towel bar securely over my sons changing table. Not only does it hold a change of clothes so I don't have to lift him half changed off the pad and search threw his dresser with a naked baby in my arms, but it also keep the clothes out of his reach and holds musical toys that delight him when he isn't in the mood for changing. It is one of the best things I have discovered since I became a mom. I recommend it to everyone!

To reduce lost socks I managed to convince my husband to do what I have done for years-safety pin the socks together at the toes before putting in the hamper. I started doing it when I was young to keep from getting my sisters socks, now it prevents lost socks!

Usually department stores give you the hanger that comes with shorts, especially children's. The ends have the plastic with the metal slider. The entire part can be snapped off easily and reused for snack bags and such.

Tablecloths to fit my large dining room table were quite pricey and I had a very tight budget. One day while folding laundry, the idea came to measure a twin flat sheet on my table. Off I went to the fabric store for appropriate lace, edged one, then another I'd purchased from a yard sale. No one knew the difference but me.

To make the drinkable yogurts easier for my young children to drink, I poke a stir straw in through the removable top to prevent spilling! I also keep these stirring straws on hand in case we lose one of the straws from our juice boxes!

I have an old sofa that is worn out and should be replaced, but I cannot afford it at this time. Besides, my entire family loves this sofa, as it is very comfortable. However, one of the springs has sprung apparently. If you sit down on this one section you sink down too far.
Is there a way to shore this up that is not too difficult or expensive? I am a single mom on a limited budget. Kathy Y.

We don't eat a lot of spaghetti and we just bought a house with a dishwasher.
Sometimes my dishwasher turns all my plastic pink!! I cannot figure it out!! Its a pale pink, not orange like tomato sauce stains.
Some of the stuff I had will not go back to its orginal color so now my coffee pot filter holder and my ice trays are pink!!!
Does anyone else have this problem? I keep wondering if it is the cascade dishwashing powder. I switch to electrosol and it does not seem to happen anymore.
Has anyone tried that plastic booster stuff? Does it work?

Old Tablecloth With An Old Stain to Match
My husband's mother gave us one of her mother's beautiful white tablecloths, the only problem is that it has a big coffee stain (I think) on it!!!
I have tried washing it with oxyclean this did not work. Will a paste of oxyclean hurt it? It is very old and I do not want to wear a hole in it.
Does anyone else have any ideas? I would like to use this tablecloth for thanksgiving...
I thought about tea staining the whole thing to match the stain...it would be pretty but I am afraid that the stain will get darker and I will be back where I started from.
Thanks for any advice!!!

The Kitchen, the Heart of My Home
By Crystal Miller
I think of the kitchen as being the heart of my home. This is because I know that food has an important role to play in the lives of our families. They can be blessed by the many ways food and eating is a part of their daily life. Nothing warms the heart of a husband like the smell of dinner cooking as he walks in from a hard day's work. I love how a meal can call the family together for a time of sharing and discussing life. There is something so wonderful about the smell of bread, muffins or a cake baking in the oven. And who can deny the satisfaction of sitting down with the family all present and enjoying a pan of homemade lasagna, salad and fresh bread!

Blogs for Kids
By S. Housley
Flush out the writer in children. Blogging could draw out a young writer and open doors to their future. Consider encouraging your child to start blogging!
Children love having an audience. The instant recognition and approval that comes from a crowd just can't be beat. Employing blogs to help develop good spelling habits, grammar skills, and develop a love for writing at a young age is an innovative concept that has potential benefits:
