Leave Remotes and Appliance Manuals When Moving

When moving, don't forget to leave behind garage door, blind, and ceiling fan remotes. Also, leave any appliance manuals and warranties that may still be applicable. You could even leave the names and numbers of the utility companies that they may need to call. An extra phone book for the area would also be helpful, along with the names of the closest grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, library, and schools. The garbage pick-up time and day would also be a nice gesture.

This idea helped the sale of my father's home! Taped to the wall, we made a letter addressed to "New Potential Homeowners" with the telephone numbers of all utilities, important information like the day of trash pick-up, the local Chamber of Commerce map of the small town even the number and name of the person who removes trees on the property. I also included a map of the property with names of the perennials.
