Angel is a 5 year old Siamese/Tabby. Angel was about 1 year old when we asked a neighbor to surrender her to us. Angel was very sick and not spayed. The neighbor was not able or willing to provide her medical care. She had 10 cats living in a one bedroom apartment.
Our intention was only to foster her for a short time while we nursed her back to health and found a permanent home. But it didn't take us long to fall in love with her and she knows she has a safe, loving and permanent home with us. She has been a blessing to us. Our lives have been enriched in many ways by having Angel with us.
She will not stop playing until she runs out of breath (asthma). She loves to talk to us. Her favorite thing (or our favorite thing?) is pressing her forehead into us when we kiss her forehead. Angel usually sleeps over my right shoulder, watching over me.
Please consider helping an animal in need like Angel instead of buying from a breeder. If you know of someone in a situation where they are unable or unwilling to care for their pet please step in and do what you can to help.
Even if you don't have the resources to take the animal in yourself you can still help by removing the animal from the abusive situation and taking them to a reputable shelter. Please say or do something in these situations. You can speak for those who have no voice. Pleas remember to spay/neuter your pet.
I so love Siamese cross eyes! Bless you for rescuing her and giving her a home!
Excellent advice and I'm so thankful that you have the courage to stand up and say it. So many just
"preach" without ever really doing anything about the situation they find a helpless animal in.
We can always do something if we truly care about the animals who cannot help themselves. So many folks just forget that the animals have all the same feelings that humans do. They're sick or injured and neglected too often and nobody cares or even realizes they should be caring.
Our animals are so full of love and total devotion. The least we can do is to give them up if we cannot care for them ourselves. Thank you for a great message, and for being an "angel" to your Angel.
Hooray for you! I second all you have said. We have an adopted a lab/chow dog and he has been a wonderful friend to us. The rewards far outweigh the costs. I would never buy an animal from a breeder or pet store. Too many languishing in shelters or bad homes.
