Tomato Soup Recipe

My mom used to make a Tomato Soup with canned tomatoes, milk and baking soda. I remember something that the milk had to be just the right temp and before she added the tomatoes. Does anyone know how to make it this way?

Almost Butter

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 pound margarine, softened
  • 2 teas. salt

Directions

Blend all together in a large bowl. Whip until all is mixed well. Place in containers and put in the fridge.

Makes 2 pounds Tastes just like butter

Ravioli Minestrone

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans beans
  • 1 can diced tomatos
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 can ravioli sauce
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Parmesan cheese

Directions

In pot heat 1 Tbsp. oil over medium heat. Add 1 cup chopped carrots, 1 small onion, (chopped), 1/2 cup chopped celery and 2 cloves garlic (minced).

Cook until softened, 4-5 minutes. Add 2 cans beans (rinsed and drained), 1 can diced tomatoes with juice, 2 cup water, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. dried oregano.

Bring to boil. Cover; reduce heat to low. Simmer 30 minutes.

Stir in 1 can ravioli with sauce and 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley. Cook until hot. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.

Ham Balls

Ham Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground ham
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 graham crackers
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Directions:

Mix all together well. Form into balls, either large or small, as desired. These freeze well. Sauce for ham balls is as follows:

Sauce:

  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard

Directions:

Mix well. Pour over balls and bake in 350 degree F oven for 45 minutes.

Ham Balls II

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground ham
  • 1 lb. ground pork sausage
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Ingredients:

Mix the first 5 ingredients well and form into balls. Brown the ham balls in a skillet. Arrange the balls in a baking pan. Put the other ingredients in a shaker jar and shake well. Baste each ham ball with the mixture. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 1/2 hours. Baste each 1/2 hour. These can also be made quite small and served as an appetizer.

Ham Balls III

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lbs. ground ham
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs

Sauce:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups tomato soup
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard

Directions

Mix above ingredients; using a 1/2 cup measuring cup, make balls. Makes 25. Heat sauce ingredients and pour over ham balls. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.

Ham Balls IIII

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. ham loaf mix
  • 2 cup cracker crumbs
  • 3 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup milk

Sauce:

  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. mustard

Directions

Combine first 4 ingredients. Form into balls about golf ball size. Place in a large cake pan and bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes, until set; drain. Cover with sauce and bake 1-1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees F. Freeze well.
