(Originally posted 10/2007 - Updated 8/27/2009) Here are some links to a few pumpkin patches. Pumpkin Patches are great not only for pumpkins but other fall crops as well. If you have one near you, please post it in the feedback and we'll add it to the list. We went to one last year for my grandson's birthday and had a blast!

Here's the story and pictures about our trip last year:

In Broome Co., N.Y. and Tioga Co., N.Y. you will find two of the BEST. In Endicott, NY is Jackson's Farm. Pumpkin people, cider and donuts, all the fall good times.

In Owego, NY, it's Iron Kettle Farm. It was featured in this current edition of Country Magazine. Just wanted to add to the list.

Pumpkin Patches Open at Nebraska City
Come out to the farm and pick your own pumpkin!

Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, marks the opening of two U-pick pumpkin patches in the Nebraska City area - a short and scenic drive from Omaha and Lincoln.

"The pumpkin patches at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure and Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard are bursting with pumpkins," says Erik Olson, manager of Arbor Day Farm and Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard. "Picking the perfect pumpkin is a fall tradition that the whole family will enjoy."

At Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure the new pumpkin patch is part of the Autumn Festival and a full day of fun for the entire family. The Tree Adventure attraction also offers a corn maze, hay rides, 50-foot Canopy Tree House, interactive Woodland Pavilion, "Trees in the Movies," Hiking trails and a free tree seedling. Tree Adventure admission is $4.50 for children, $6.50 for adults, and $35 for a family pass.

Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure, 2611 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410 (402) 873-8717, http://www.ArborDayFarm.org .

At Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard ride the hay rack to the pumpkin patch. Enjoy fresh pressed apple cider, Kimmel wines, apple pie, homegrown produce and scenic trails.
