I have this rash on my face (cheeks) and I think it's Rosacea. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to treat it? I've had this on and off but this time it's been the longest I've had it and it's the worse. I've tried creams, different face washes, scrubs, different ointments to see if anything will work but nothing has.

It is very pink and a bit swollen. At times it seems like I also have small blisters within the pink skin. It's itchy and sensitive. I would appreciate if anyone can help me with this. I can't afford a dermatologist right now. Thanks.

Metro gel prescription from doctor helps me when Rosecea breaks out in pimple type form. I agree with the above poster about seeing a doctor if it is persistent or you have other symptoms like traveling swelled up painful joints, mouth sores, etc. I was diagnosed with Lupus 10 years ago. Lupus can cause a butterfly rash on face. Not trying to scare you, it could be caused by something as simple as too harsh of a face soap or an allergy.

I would definately try Virgin Coconut oil.
Rub it in well. Your skin absorbs it well.
Please check out

I hope you will try it, and give it some time. It may do the trick for you! I would love to hear how it works for you!

Instead of the antibiotics, I wash everyday with tea tree oil soap. It is a natural disinfectant. It helps. I buy the soap at Trader Joe's ($3.00/2 bars).

I had a bout of Rosacea a couple of times over the last 10 years. The only cure is oral antibiotics! I understand about the affordability of a dermi, etc., but if you have a family doc or know someone who can write you a prescription for antibiotics, do it! I tried all the creams too. No success. Rosacea is an infection so antibiotics are necessary! Good luck!

Thank you all for your help and I will take everyone's suggestions. I have an appointment to see my doctor, and I did google also and found some interesting info. Jan, I appreciate you sharing your story. Thank you very much for your advise. I too am a Chocoholic, coffee drinker, stress too much and love, love, love spicy food. Go figure and I wondered why ha? Again thank you all for your great advise.
God Bless.

I would see your family doctor.. A rash on cheeks is a classic sysptom of Lupus. Better to know than guess on something like this.

I have rosacea. Mine does not itch. Mine comes and goes. I've found that what I eat and my stress level are triggers for breakouts. If I get over stressed, I know there's going to be a breakout. Really hot, spicy food, caffeine, too many sweets, all cause breakouts. I have eczema also, and too many sweets will make my eczema flair up in a minute. I love coffee, but I try and only have one cup a day. Saves money too :). I also love spicy food, but try to keep it at a minimum. Chocolate is a weakness, but I know if I have to much, I will suffer. These foods might not be your triggers.

You will have to do trial and error to find out what foods are. I also use Eucerin, and it helps sometimes. They have a redness reliever, but I can't tell much of a difference in it and the regular Eucerin. Try to keep your face covered with a hat or umbrella when in the sun. You can try sunblock, but it makes my breakouts worse. Find a very gentle cleanser for sensitive skin. I use the Neutrogena bar for sensitive skin. It's about $2 a bar and lasts a while. I am having a flair up right now. It's due to stress, but I did eat a couple pieces of my mom's pound cake :) Do some research if you have the time.
