If you have cats go to a restaurant supply store and buy a metal mess scoop that is used to remove items from the deep frier. Use this as your kitty litter scoop. It will never break, bend, or fail you in any way.
I always use metal scoops that you use with deep fryers. You can pick them up at yard sales real cheap and they do a good job and last longer than the plastic ones.
