Decorating for a wedding can be an expensive undertaking. Money can be saved on flowers if you are willing to recognize the beauty in weeds and limbs from dormant trees. We recently used many colorful tree and bush willows that we found just by the roadside. There are some amazing colors and shapes waiting to be made into classic boquets. The tall weeds with fern like tops looked excellent. The atmosphere at the wedding was very warm and back to nature feel.

I have a cousin who used cut up birch tree branches that were about 3-4 inches wide as table decorations. They then cut a hole in the top with a hole saw that was just big enough for a tea light candle to be inserted. They had their reception in a community log cabin dance hall. They also used pine cones that they collected to decorate the tables. It was simple but very cute. She had many people asking if they could have a candle holder at the end of the night.
