Today's Recipes


Cheese 'n Ham Spirals

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
  • 8 slices shaved, smoked, or brown sugar ham

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Beat egg and 1 Tbsp. water with wire whisk until blended; set aside. Unfold pastry onlightly floured surface . Roll into 14x10 inch rectangle; cut in half lengthwise.

Brush both pastry halves lightly with some of the egg mixture. Sprinkle 3 Tbsp. of the cheese and the pepper evenly over 1 of the pastry pieces; cover with ham slices. Place remaining pastry piece, egg side down, over ham. Brush with additional egg mixture.

Roll gently with rolling pin to seal. Roll in jelly-roll fashion to make 14 inch log. Cut into 24 equal slices. Place, cut side down, on parchment-covered baking sheet.

Brush with remaining egg mixture; sprinkle with remaining 1 Tbsp. cheese. Bake 12 to14 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Caramel Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. caramels (about 50 pieces)
  • 1/4 lb. margarine
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Directions

Heat together in double boiler or microwave. Serve warm with apple slices.

Whipped Sweet Potato Bake

Ingredients

  • 3 cans sweet potatoes, drained
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 3 cup miniature marshmallows

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat sweet potatoes, butter, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.

Spoon into lightly greased baking dish; top with marshmallows. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until sweet potato mixture is heated through and marshmallows are lightly browned.

Mini Cheese Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 tub Philadelphia Chive & Onion Cream cheese spread
  • 1 pkg. mozzarella shedded cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts, ground

Directions

Mix cream cheese spread and mozzarella cheese until well blended. Stir in chopped bacon and seasoning.

Shape mixture into 54 balls, 1 level tsp. each. Roll in walnuts. Cover with plastic wrap.

Best Shrimp Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup Miracle Whip
  • 1/3 cup green onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 small can cocktail shrimp (drained & rinsed)
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt

Directions

Mix cream cheese and Miracle whip until smooth and well blended. Stir in remaining ingredients; chill.
