There is a great web site called AngelFoodMinistries.com. There are no special requirements to take advantage of this site, and they have phenomenal food deals. For example, a single package costs $30 to purchase and the contents you receive have a value of between $75 - 80. There are other packages as well. They accept food stamps and other payments. You put your zip code and they tell you the center nearest you.

Your order is placed around the 10th of the month and you pick it up on the given day, which is at the end of the month. The food is very good as well. All you need to do is bring a box to pick up your order. You can order as many packages as you like. It makes a great gift for an older person as they have prepared meals also.

Angel Food Minisitries started up in Sioux Falls, SD, I think it was in Oct. or Nov. 2008, I contacted the person listed and told him I didn't have a car, and wondered if they could deliver the boxes and he said yes. Anyway I received the first box, and when it was delivered he told me to let them know anytime I would need the box delivered. I ordered and sent the money for the next box, and never received it. After about a month I emailed the Angel Food Ministry headquarters and was told that the refund had to come from the local source, and if I sent the phone number to the lady that responded to my email she would contact the local people, which I did, but to this date I still haven't received a refund and have lost the sources to contact the people or the church in charge.

I did go on this site but couldn't find any in my area. in fact none in Virginia. I surely would like to find any that are near me. I am 67 yrs old, live alone on a fixed income. This sounds like something I would like to try. Thanks

We can't afford to give this to anyone other than ourselves. There is more food than we expected and its good! You get much more than you pay for. Its NOT charity, and I see people from all walks of life picking up the food. Fot Nov there is even a special "box" for Thanksgiving. We will just be buying the normal $30 box....its worth the money!
