Rocky (Jack Russell Terrier)

Hi, my name is Rocky and I am a 16 month old Jack Russell Terrier. When this picture was taken,I was only 8 weeks old. My mommy got me for my daddy for his birthday on December 20th.This was my outfit to wear for Christmas. I love kids and I also love to have fun by playing frisbee with my daddy. I also love to go on long walks to the beach.

New Use For An Entertainment Center

Is your entertainment center too small for your new BIG TV - recycle it to your computer room. Makes a great place for storing all those computer CDs, supplies, FAX, printer, etc. Keeps everything neat and organized.

Today's Tips

Organizing Coupons

Alphabetically file food categories in a small index card size box, using color tabbed dividers. Example/Breads, Beverages, Canned Goods, Dairy. I also store store coupons in back and clean out the expired coupons once every month.

Saving Money Going To The Movies

Money saving tips for going to the movies. Post your ideas.

Go to movies during matinee hours to save on admission prices, or wait a few weeks until you can rent a video to save even more.

By cynthia conley

Editor's Note: In our area, the matinee prices continue to get closer to the normal prices. I think there is only a dollor difference between regular and matinee prices right now. Still worth the savings but not like it used to be.

The cheapest way to see a movie in a theatre is to find a discount theatre. They usually play movies that are about a month past their prime and charge between 1 and 4 dollars.

Dollhouse Furniture Made From Popsicle Sticks

I was running out of ideas on miniature furniture to make for a dollhouse when I came across this idea. Look in a Log Cabin book or magazine for pictures of furniture and log cabins. You can duplicate it using popsicle sticks, a glue gun and pruning shears to easily cut the sticks in half.

Another place to look for ideas is a book on how to build wood furniture with step by step illustrations. It has opened up a whole new world on making dollhouse furniture and even landscapes for the outside of the dollhouse. Popsicle sticks are just like miniature 2x4's and the possibilities are endless.

Remove Condensation from Car Windows

Keep a clean blackboard eraser inside your glove compartment and erase condensation when it fogs up your windshield or glass doors. Works like a charm!

Homemade Dog Toys

Tips and ideas for making your own dog toys. Post your ideas.

Homemade Doggy Toy

Take old beat up towels, cut them into thin strips. Braid the strips together into one long rope. Tie a knot on each end. Now you have a homemade Doggy toy!

Remove Musty Odors from Vacuum Cleaners

Put 4 or 5 drops of your favorite essential oil in your vacuum cleaner bag to release a fresh clean scent in the air. Some good scents to try are peppermint, orange or lemon citrus, sandalwood and lavender.

This also acts as aromatherapy for example, peppermint perks you up, lavender has a calming soothing effect and citrus makes the air fruity and crisp. My co-workers love when I vacuum the office, so much in fact they want to choose the fragrance of the week :)

Saving on Dog Treats When Training

When you buy soft dog treats, such as jerky or sausage type, tear them into smaller pieces. You can give just one tidbit as a training treat or plain old reward. Most dogs don't need the extra calories of an entire treat, and this way, you spend more time with your dog, too. It's all about the love!

Celery Tops Instead of Parsley

Instead of parsley, use those leafy celery tops to add flavor and color to a salad. Why throw away the celery tops and then purchase parsley? Wash the leaves, chop them fine, and sprinkle on top of any salad.

Clock By The Phone

Do you have an extra clock in your home? Place it near the phone. Just watching the minutes tick away will remind you to keep those long distance conversations short! An extra kitchen timer will do the same trick, and you can even set it to go off in five minutes.

Thrift Store Shopping Tips

Tips for getting the most out of thrift store shopping. Post your ideas.

Shopping at Goodwill

I go to the Goodwill on one-half off days (holidays or first Saturday of the month), as it makes my dollars go farther. I pick up things for my five grandchildren and others I know that are living on a minimum wage income. This way we all win--Goodwill, my family, friends, the people who donate to Goodwill, and myself, as I am helping others.

Saving Money on Paper Towels

Tips for saving money on paper towels. Post your ideas!

My husband was using paper towels galore! Usually, it was just to wipe up a few drops of water on the counter, or to wipe his hands. To slow down this waste of money, I moved the paper towel holder to another location, and tore some into quarters. I placed the quartered paper towels where he is used to reaching for a whole paper towel. It works great, and my DH can still grab something quick to clean up.

Saving Money on Car Repairs

Tips for saving money on car repairs. Post your ideas.

One way to possibly save on some car repairs is to check with your local high school and see if they have any type of automobile class. Many are willing to do the repairs if you are willing to pay for the parts.

By Robin

Editor's Note: Vocational Technical Schools are also good for repairs.

Grocery Shopping Tips

Shopping Without the Family

Benefits from Animal Shelters

Lots of animal shelters and humane societies offer special programs like discounted spay/neuter programs and sometimes even a pet food program as well. Some even help with vaccinations.

Save on Postage

Saving on Postage

One way I save money is on postage. I deliver all the bills that I can or else have them automatically deducted from my checking account each month. This saves a lot and with the possibility of a price hike again on stamps in 2006, it's a good habit to have. You can also pay bills over the phone and online. Just be sure it's very secure. I pay for very few bills by mail anymore.

Sweating Feet

Perhaps someone with some medical knowledge may be able to answer this. My feet have started sweating in the past year irregardless of the temperatures.

I am past 60, post-menapausal and in relatively good health. I have never had this problem before, but now find I have to change socks several times a day. There is no foot odor but my socks, regardless of the weight or style of the socks, are damp.

I do wear only SAS shoes but have several pairs I alternate between. Even when I wear sandals with a pair of socks, the socks get damp. What gives here or more precisely, what am I doing wrong?

Leash Training a Puppy

Thank you for answering my last question, you were really a great help. If i may bother everyone one more time about my pit bull pup. I am trying to leash train him, but when I start I always hold it above his head so he can't see it. But somehow he still manages to roll around and bite it (I think he thinks it's a toy). Should I spank him? And also he has a problem with biting clothes and growling! I just do not know what to do exactly with him. Please answer my questions again. Thanks,

Color Fading After Washing With Tide With Bleach Alternative

Some of my colored garments got faded in places after washing as if some bleach or other chemical spilled on them. I use Tide with Bleach Alternative and its supposed to be safe on colored garments too. Not all the garments that I laundered with those garments had this problem. This has happened 2-3 times and the garments which are affected are so bad that they cant be worn again. Can someone help?

Home Staging: How to Make Your Tract Home Stand Out in the Crowd
By Jeanette Joy Fisher

Home sellers who wish to market their property in development neighborhoods face tough challenges. All the houses look similar. All the houses sell for amounts in the same price range. The market -- whether it's a hot sellers' market or a cool buyers' market -- largely determines the price, purchase terms, and length of time to sell.
