She has the markings of the shepherd and the textured coat of the golden. A truly awesome dog! DEF will look for another cross breed, same one, golden shepherd, when dog shopping again! She's the BEST!

My dog "SHEP" was rescued from SPCA when she was 12 weeks old. She is now 16 years old. Everyone loves her. She is a wonderful member of our family. I believe she is Golden/Shepherd/Lab Mix?

I think that I have also found the breed of my dog. I was told she was a shep chow mix but now that I have seen these other pics I totally think that she is a shep retreiver mix. She is a great dog and has been really easy to train. We love her.

Hi Jil, I have exactly the same dog here in New Zealand. Ours is called Basil after basil brunch and the only difference is his nose is a little darker thank you so much for the pic of your baby ours came 3 weeks ago from the humane society very badly mistreated. Hello Janet, THANKS! so much for posting. We adopted "Joli" who about 3 months old this past Wednesday night and were curious about what she might be. Our Joli looks like a miniature of yours. It is uncanny how they look alike right down to the almost solid golden body and black mask. It's awesome to have a baby that has two wonder breeds in her lineage.

I have seen everyone's dog on this site and i have to say my dog looks very similar to them. This is Milo, he is a german shepard/golden retrevier/lab mix. My boyfriend and I adopted him from the Humane Society in Fort Lauderdale FL. He is very energetic and loves to play and go for long walks. He is somewhat hard to train due to his short attention span but we will always love him. I have fallen in love with this breed/mix.

Fozzie Bear is about three months old now. He came from the local shelter where the previous owner turned him in with 10 other siblings. Three were golden and the other 8 were black and brownish, looking like GSD pups. Fozzies ears just started standing up within the past week or so. Prior to that, he looked like a Golden Retriever puppy. What do you think? I think he has some GSD in him also, and last night I noticed the hair on his chin is turning dark. Patty

I Jut got Cookie from North Shore Animal League on Sat Aug 2,08.North Shore said she was 10 week's old weighing 17.4 lbs. Let me tell you this about Cookie. What a wonderful puppy she is. One accident and goes outside without a problem. She loves her crate and I leave it open and she goes in/out. And will pace and cry when she has to go. She is the easiet dog I've ever had to train. She doesn't even bark except outside when seeing another dog. North shore told me Cookie was "Sheppard Mix. Does anyone know what she is?
I took her to the Vet and The Vet agrees Sheppard but not sure on the Mix maybe some kind of Retriever.I am thinking maybe Sheppard with Golden because of her color. Cookie has such a gentile demeanor about her and often shys away. I have a 3 1/2 yr old son. Cookie does nothing but kiss him all day long. No matter what my son does to her. I Love this dog already. Isn't she just beautiful!T he Vet also said he thinks she is any where from 12-17 week's old.

My dog looks like the one from the original post! I am wondering the same thing. We picked this little guy up from the pound. He is obviously German Shepherd, but I'm thinking he might be mixed with a Retreiver? He has fuzzy ears, a soft coat and a surprisingly gentle demeanor...

WOW. I am so glad I found this site. I think I found my dog, Tacoma's, twins. No one has been able to figure out what kind of pup we have. We rescued her at 5 weeks and we were told that she was shepard and husky mix. I have been saying for the past couple of weeks that I think she has retriever in her and no husky. Thank you for posting all of the beautiful pics of your dogs. Im glad we found an answer.

I've done a rescue as well and was told our pup was a golden retriever akita mix. The vet seems certain golden Shepard mix. He looks just like the pictures you've all posted of your golden Shepard. He is only 7 months and tipping 100lbs, definite Shepard snout, with the soft floppy golden ears. I don't have the equipment to post a picture but all of your loved ones are beautiful.

I was also wondering what type of puppy I have. I adopted Ozzy 2 days ago from the Humane Society in Hall County Georgia. They told me he is "Shepard Mix", I think that is a little vague. Can anyone help me out?

I don't think that your dog is a golden Shepard. they usually don't have the pointed ears.

Just got this 5 month old from the Shelter. Shelter said it was a collie mix. Vet says Golden and maybe German Shepherd...Shepherd breeder says muzzle is too fair colored to be a German Shepherd. Any thoughts (I know the dog in the back is a German Shepherd :) )?

The Vet says she has Collie in her... I think she is a Collie/Golden Retriever mix, but where does the curled tail come from???

The dog JANET is German Shepherd and Golden retriever mix. I have the same exact dog and he is 5 month old. Mother of the dog was pure breed German Shepherd and after looking at enough pictures of various dogs I have come to the conclusion that his fater is a Golden Retriever.
But the stanz and movements are more like German Shepherd dog.

All these dogs are cute, the only pet I currently have right now is my cat named Runner, I will send a photo later, I was with her for 1 year and 3 months but she's 1 year and 5 months. We got her from pet land back in july 2006. They say she was there with 2 brothers and 1 sister but they all got adopted before her, and ironically I found a photo of my cat and her brothers and sister as little kittens in there old home at indiana USA.
I LOVE DOGS SOO MUCH!, I used to have one black lab mixed with rottweiler, her name was Tesla, I had her when I moved to Toronto, from Belgrade Yugoslavia, I had her from when I was 2 and a half to 5 years old then me, mom & dad had to move to St. Catharines so we left Tesla with my aunt & uncle to take care of.
Then when I came into grade 3 (now im in grade 6), she unfortunately died, which I found out after a phone call between my mom & I think my aunt, IT WAS SAD! But I didnt cry, much, and now we are thinking about getting a dog or a second cat. We have looked around some pet stores and some humane societies and we found some great dogs and cats but since its gonna start snowing soon and we still don't have enough money for a pet so my dad is planning by March or April when it stops snowing. Hopefully we have enough money and will get a dog or a second cat, well possibly second cat sooner if we decide which to get.
Well I want your opinions if you were me owning a cat for 1 year and 3 months (she is 1 year and 5 months though) and you had a tight decision of getting a second cat or dog but you love both soo much! and you wanted your cat to have a best cat friend while you would want to honor the legacy of your own dog by getting a second dog and naming it TESLA 2! for memories, which would you pick?

Adorable dog! I love labs , but am really starting to love mixed breeds. I love the black around the face. We also have a similar looking Golden Retriever mixed with German Shepherd (we think!). She was rescued as a puppy from a busy road at about 8 weeks of age and I got her from a rescue group that I did fundraising for. I will also try to attach a picture. They look similar! I can't find a more updated picture, so mine looks mostly golden in this picture.

She's beautiful!! I would tend to agree with the Golden Retriever/German Shepard cross, or else a Belgian Malanois (sp?), which can come with a longer coat.

Here's another website (http://www.mmigenomics.com/CHBTKits/order.php) that can determine the breed of your dog. It does cost (about $72), but they send you a DNA kit to use and send back in; they then send you the results. You might have seen it on the Today show on NBC. I decided to do it for my dog since she was a stray with unknown parents; haven't gotten the results back yet, but it was easy getting the DNA sample to send in.

Looks like a Belgian Tervuren (spelling?) to me. Look it up on the web. Beautiful dog. If not, at least some sort of Shephard mix.

Part German Shepherd obviously and maybe golden retreiver...is the longer hair silky feeling? I have a 4 yr. old dog that is part yellow lab and collie and the fur on your dog looks like the fur on my older dog..very silky feeling like a collie.

Beautiful dog golden retriever sheppard mix to me. What does it matter looks like a swell combination to me. Are you using it for a special purpose? If just for a family dog I think she will be perfect.

I think your dog is at least part Geman Shep. The rest could be possible golden retriever or some other long haired breed. Your vet can tell you better. It's a beautiful dog. Looks like a dog I had.

There's a website that may help you find what breed your dog is. It's dogbreedz.com. I looked and thought your dog resembled the Canaan dog. If you look though you may find what kind she is. Good luck.
