The Anal Glands may need to be emptied. The Vet or a dog grooming place can do it for you if you don't know how to. When you give them a bath and they still smell, the glands are usually the culprit.

Wash him, then sniff him. It may be a bad infection or gum disease. You never know what fur hides; he could've gotten into anything or hurt himself. You didn't say what he smelled like. lol

Are you sure it's not rolling into anything outside to get the odor? What kind of dog food are you using?

Several things may contribute to the smell. 1. all shampoo is not rinsed off (in the skin folds), and the residue causes a smell. 2. a yeast infection of the skin (may not have a rash.

Is she licking herself a lot?) 3. an ear infection - my daughter's lab just reeked until her ear infection was treated and cleared up. 4. the anal glands may need emptying. Numbers 2, 3,and 4 require a visit to the vet. Hope this helps.
