Cheese Dreams

A popular finger food at get togethers that freezes well.

Ingredients:

  • Slices of white bread, crusts removed
  • Grated cheddar
  • Slices of bacon
  • Butter
Amounts depend on how many you plan to make.

Directions:

Butter each slice of bread and cut in four equal parts. Sprinkle cheese over each quarter. Place pieces of partly cooked bacon cut to fit over each quarter. Can be frozen in layers separated with wax paper. Bake at 375 degrees F about 10 to 15 minutes.

I should add that my husband loves these served with soup for lunch, a change from sandwiches. In that case I don't remove the crusts, just butter bread, cut in half, sprinkle with grated cheese and top with half a slice of partly cooked bacon.
