I just accidentally poured hot candle wax on my brother's formica dark green (pattern) counter top. We've tried hot soap and water and then we used a scrunge. I believe it looks scratched and a little discolored now and the shine is gone. I would welcome ANY suggestions. Do you think it's totally ruined? Hopeful!

I have old 1950's white formica counters in my kitchen and use Clorox Cleanup which removes all of the stains. Mine are also dull and sometimes, when the spirit moves me, I wax them with car paste wax. You might give these suggestions a try....they work great for me.
