Liberty Belle and Freedom Belle (Tortoise Shell Cats)
Liberty Belle is 4 years old, Tortie and I got her on 9/11 my birthday and the day of the terroist attack. I have since adopted another, Freedom Belle, same breed. Here is Liberty Belle, doing what the "queen" does most days!

This is what we did for a center piece for Halloween. We carved out the inside and put flowers inside of it. It does last for about 2 weeks.

This is a picture of my husband and our Parrot Peppy. My grandmother gave him to us after my Granddaddy passed away. They have had this bird for 30 some years. When my grandfather went to heaven the bird went into depression. Not saying a lot because my grandfather had taken up so much time with him and he LOVED my grandfather so much, in fact he was the only one that could do anything with him.
Well one day we were visiting my grandmother and my husband walked in and Peppy started talking up a storm and whistling and calling my Granddaddy's last name, he always says Coker, Coker. Peppy fell in love with my husband and I guess reminds him of Granddaddy.
So Peppy has done wonderfully in the transition as you can see. Very special to me since my Granddaddy had him since I was 7 years old. We have had him well over a year and he is happy as can be!

Ideas for Halloween Party Decorations
Fastest, cheapest, easiest way to decorate for Halloween or a Halloween Party:
Drape white sheets over all the furniture and windows. It looks like a haunted house and a much more realistic and fun decoration than store-bought paper decorations. Add candles in old fashioned holders on top of covered tables, and a few hidden flashlights to provide creepy uplighting.
Aside from being a great atmosphere for Halloween, and being free or cheap - It's also great for party preparation. No need to worry about old furniture or party cleaning, etc. - just cover it all up with sheets.

Plain, fresh unsweetened yoghurt may be a base for ice-cream, dips and low-cal substitute for fresh cream; it will, when applied to skin and/or eaten, clear thrush and zits and smooth rough skin and rehydrate dry skin; it will remove some stains from clothing; it will condition hair and give you stronger nails and hair. Make your own for even greater savings; all you need is a starter pot and heat.

There are some fancy, and expensive cleaning towels or cloths on the market. I've found that the best cloth for cleaning and dusting is an old pair of raggedy sweatpants, I'd cut up. My Mom always swore her best cleaning rags were old cloth baby diapers.

Santa Heads Made From Detergent Bottles
Santa Head Made from a Bleach Bottle
Materials needed
Cut bleach bottle in half. Cut so that the handle is in front of you and cut sideways. Take the half without the handle and hot glue the pink felt on the bottle for the face you can glue on the pompom and the eyes. Cut two large Triangles from Red felt. Glue to top half of bleach bottle for hat. Two make the fur on the hat Take the white yarn and wrap it around a three inch long piece of cardboard 25 times. Slip off the cardboard and tie in the center with a small piece of yarn. Now with your sisscors punch a hole in the Bleach bottle below the red felt and push the two ends of the middle tying yarn through the Hole. Tie a knot in the yarn to keep it from coming back out. It all depends on how thick you want the fur as to how many you make.. Make a white Pom Pom for the tip of his hat.
Take 8 inch piece of cardboard wrap it 25 times and tie in the middle and tuck up under red Pompom nose in the same manner as for the the fur. This makes Santa's moustache Use the same techinque to make Santa's Beard. It will take three rows of poufs to make his beard. Good Luck and have fun. You can use sparkle yarn and you could add some rosy cheeks with a little bit of blush. You could also make Mrs. Claus by make poufs of grey yarn to make her hair. Bend some wire into a pair of glasses and add a big bow at the bottom to finish her off.

Make little ghost favors using a whole walnut for the head and a double kleenex for the "sheet" and tie thin orange and black ribbons around the neck. use a fine marker for eyes and mouth. (I made these one year for trick or treat and put coins in with the walnuts. Of course I told the parents to watch the little ones with the money.) Booooo

Here is a fun way to get the little party goers involved. Get some decorations from a craft store or just little glueables around the home. Like puffy balls wiggly eyes for a face, foamys, or buttons etc. Have the party goers come straight to a table to decorate their own party gift bag. Brown bags are great they usually coast $1 at most dollar stores. This makes a fun unique bag for the children and a fun party activity. Now fill it up with goodies.

Getting Rid of Blackberry Bushes
I live in the Pacific Northwest where blackberry bushes can be a real pain to get rid of. I just moved into a house that had a backyard full of them. I am almost down cutting them back. What is the best way to keep them from growing back?
