Relief From Hot Flashes

These tips use no drugs and are virtually cost free.

  1. At night, I keep a small bowl on my night table beside me with a cold wet washcloth in it. When I get a hot flash, I place the wet washcloth across my eyes and forehead. A HUGE relief. I use it as I need it through the night and put it into the laundry the next day.

  3. If your feet get hot and burning at night, keep a spray bottle with cold water on your night table. Hang your feet sideways out of the covers and using the finest setting of the spray nozzle, spray your feet and even up your calves. Let them air dry before tucking them back under the covers. I find great relief from doing this.
  4. For extra coolness, you can add 1 oz rubbing alcohol to 1 cup water into your spray bottle, but be VERY CAREFUL, this mixture could stain your bed spread or sheets.
  5. Source: A friend told me about the water in the spray bottle. I came up with the cool washcloth idea myself while I was laying there wiping the perspiration off my forehead with a tissue one night, lol.

When over heated in the middle of the night, I turn my pillow over. You'll instantly feel cooler.

Herb store. Purchase ginseng, black cohosh and dong qui (spelling may be a joke). Each woman may need a little more of one than the other. My RN nurse sis in law stopped for a visit while suffering for the first time.

The hot flashes were relentless. On the third day, she was free of hot flashes and I have been a favorite once again. I took all early on because I got MS from a vaccine. 76 in June. Never had a hot flash in my life.
