I am trying to enlarge a hole in a porcelain plate. Any tips would help!

You can also do it low tech, and simply shave off some by using a round rasp. It's a tool that is used to smooth down wood, but can be found in different sizes.
If you take the plate to your local hardware store, they will be happy to help.

Use a ceramic bit, available at most hardware stores.
