Donating Used Christmas Cards?

I have a question for our dear readers: A retirement center near our church used to accept used Christmas cards after the holiday was over. They would use the blank inside cover (minus any writing), cut around the design and make gift tags which they would sell. Many of the 'old timers' have passed on and no one at this center is doing it again. Do you know where in the San Diego area there is a place where someone still makes these gift tags so I may donate my used Christmas cards? Thank you.

Try other retirement homes because I am sure there are many more in the San Diego area other than the center you have been donating them to that would love to have them whether to use as gift tags or otherwise. You could also try contacting local public schools but I highly recommend donating to your local Arc (for the physically or mentally developmentaly disabled) centers who would be more than happy to have use of these cards!

I worked for the Arc here in my area before, ironically, I became physically disabled and those centers find uses for absolutely everything! :-)

I offer workshops to schools and churches about items made from greeting cards; I'd be delighted to receive cards from ThriftyFun members! Please send the whole card (front and inside) to me at:
P. O. Box 1981, Allen, TX 75013-1981. (We can also use everyday cards A LOT - birthday, anniversary, get-well, Valentine's Day, St. Pat's, Halloween, etc.)

Thanks bunches!
Casey

Our local Lions Club accepts used greeting cards of all kinds. I recently took a box to them and they accepted the box as if it contained gold!

I send new Christmas cards to overseas military active duty and veteran's hospitals through the Red Cross and Anysoldier.com every year. I use used Christmas Card's art work and graphics to spruce them up. Will be getting some friends, mostly vets, to get them ready for this year. A good way to reuse them and support our troops. Christmas theme stickers are nice too. Send entire card minus envelope if you like, removing or blacking out any names, personal notes or addresses. Please send them to:
