How do I remove the glue label on the shelving I bought? I tried a razor but it scratches the paint.

Try spraying with WD 40. It has taken a lot of labels off for me...

In a small jar mix 1/2 Dawn dishwash liquid and 1/2 rubbing alcohol......shake well and rub or paint tnat onto the label.......let set a couple minutes and it should come off easily. No harm to the surface. I have also used butter on labels to loosen the stickum. Hope this helps.

My tip is for Phil who wanted to know how to remove glue from shelving without scratching paint. There is a product called OOPS that works really good & is inexpensive.Just test an inconspicuos place before use.

Use Skin-So-Soft by AVON. WORKS GREAT! No marks. We recently purchased a roll top desk valued around $1,500 - we got 1/2 off because some goof went and taped the drawers shut with masking tape & it was marked up. From past experiences I knew to use Skin-so-soft,,,now we have a beauriful piece of furniture!

Dab a little lighter fluid on the area let it set a few, it should come right up. But if the shelving is wood, it may stain, so check in an inconspicuous spot!

A blow dryer works too, just heat up the label and it will peel off.

I've had good luck using vegetable oil or baby oil. Good Luck!
RE: Removing a Label
Just soak it with Windex and it should come up with little effort in minutes.

I use this stuff called Goo Gone. It's yellow & comes in a small bottle. Does the trick every time.
