Spinach Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 6 Tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed
  • 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat eggs and flour in a bowl until smooth. Stir in spinach, cottage cheese, Cheddar cheese, and salt and mix well. Pour into greased 1 quart casserole. Bake in oven for 1 hour.

Tip: Spinach Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs. frozen chopped spinach (10oz. each)
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can artichokes, drained (14oz.)
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions

Cook spinach and drain thoroughly. Saute' onions in margarine. Mix remaining ingredients. Fold into ingredients spinach and onion. Place in casserole dish. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees F or until thoroughly heated.

Recipe: Spinach Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. frozen chopped spinach (10oz.)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom (or celery) soup
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp American cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 beaten egg

Directions

Put egg in bottom of bowl and beat with fork. Add mayonnaise and blend. Add soup and milk. Cook spinach and drain but leave in pan. Add cheese so that it melts. Fold in bowl with egg mixture. Put in buttered casserole. Top with 1/4 cup buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. If you double recipe, put in 9x13 inch pan.

Could I throw a pound of ground meat into this to make it heartier? If so, would I need to add anything additional? Thanks, Kathy from PA (09/09/2009)

Recipe: Spinach Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs. frozen, chopped spinach, thawed and drained (10 oz. each)
  • 2 cups cream style cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut in pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups American cheese, cubed
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

Thoroughly combine all ingredients in mixing bowl. Pour into greased crockpot. Cover and cook on high 1 hour; then turn to low for 4-5 hours. Or bake in regular oven at 350 degrees F for approximately 45 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs. frozen spinach
  • 1/2 pt. sour cream
  • 1 envelope dried onion soup mix
  • Buttered bread crumbs

Directions

Thaw and drain spinach. Mix the sour cream with soup mix; blend well. Fold into spinach. Pour into buttered casserole. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-30 minutes.

Recipe: Spinach Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 small packages frozen spinach
  • 1 lb. mushrooms
  • 1 cup or more grated cheese
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Garlic salt to taste

Directions

Cook spinach and drain well. After spinach is cool put on the bottom of a 9x13 inch casserole dish. Layer: onion, half of the cheese, mushrooms, top with melted butter, garlic salt and cheese. Bake in oven at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes

Very good for spinach lovers.
