I think a cool idea would be to have a bunch of friends over for a sleepover, and then go to a park at night time and have like treasure hunts and lollie scrambles in the dark, where everything is themed around night time. (10/15/2009)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Thanks for the lovely ideas. One party game I've used for my one of my daughter's 13th birthday party is a medieval mystery party kit:

My daughter is turning 13 in December and I am trying to come up with great party ideas to throw at her. I always let them choose their party themes, but this year she doesn't know what to do. She's kind of shy and gets embarrassed easily. I want to come up with some cool ideas, since she can't have a pool party, like her sister.
It's hard to come up with party ideas for her, because her birthday is so close to Christmas. It's in the winter so it's usually too cold to do much outside. She wants to be seen as a teen, but she still wants to be a kid too. It's not going to be a coed party. Any ideas would be great! Thanks.

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
We've done a Bunco party which was a BIG hit! You can buy the boxed game anywhere and you would need to provide a small gift for each of the girls.
Another idea for this age is a boxed Mystery Game Party. We just did this last month but as it was for a 10 year old, we did an American Girl Mystery Game Party. The invites that get sent out tell the girl their character and how they should dress. They are each given a script when they arrive - it was a lot of fun and everyone participated by dressing up and having fun. Hope this helps you! (05/20/2009)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I have the same problem with my granddaughter. Her birthday is in Nov. What we started doing was celebrating her 1/2 year birthday in June and since we have a pool and it's in summer time, it opens many opportunities. Her friends were told about the situation and it was great. Then on her real birthday we had a family dinner. It worked for us for many many years. Her friends gave her gifts at her party but we waited until the dinner. Kids who have birthdays during Christmas seem to lose out sometimes. (05/21/2009)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
You can still have a summer party in the winter. It's that time now. Pick up some summer time stuff. Picnic tablecloth, some summer glasses, get coolers, sand for a small sand box. Get anything that your child likes in the summer and keep it for a summer time fun in the middle of winter. (05/21/2009)

For my b-day, I am planning just a trip to somewhere far like Six flags, then we all head home and just do some things for the night. Probably like sleepover. Although my parents allowed me to play Spin the bottle, I probably won't. (03/28/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Hey,
You could have an America's Next Top Model party (depends on what country you live in). I had that for my 12th birthday and it was great. It was actually Canada's Next Pre-teen Top Model in the Tropics! We went to the dollar store to buy some cheap hula skirts and we also bought plastic martini glasses with little umbrellas. At the party, we had a fashion show with our bathing suits and hula skirts on. My dad took pictures of the girls being models, and he got them developed during the party.
We also had limbo and my mom taught us a Jamaican dance. Closer to the end of the party, we made the girls design a blank card that has a spot for a picture. We just used markers and stickers. We then handed back the pictures and the girls inserted them into the cards. It was really fun! (03/30/2008)

For my 13th b-day, I'm going to have about 5 or 6 girls over, and have a limo take us to a really fancy restaurant. When we get home, we are going to make tie-dye shirts and beaded necklaces. My sister did that for her 13th b-day, and it was a lot of fun! (04/03/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas (Wicked)
I always loved the Wizard of Oz, then did a little digging and found out about this musical called Wicked. So I went to go see it and loved it. I themed my birthday party on the musical. In one of the songs they talk about how pink and green looked good together. Pink was for Glinda (the good witch of the North), and green was Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the west) because she has green skin. Anyway I used pink and green for my main colors, I used streamers and filled the goody bags with things like pink and green lip gloss and sun glasses. For fun I dressed up as Elphaba and had my best friend dress up as Glinda and all the rest dressed as people of the Emerald city. Later we all watched the Wizard of Oz. (04/04/2008)

We did the Six Flags water park last year for my daughter's 12th. We invited a few parents to help supervise. We had 6 girls total. It was July. We brought a cooler filled with frozen water bottles (they allow that). We bought everyone lunch at the water park. This party was easy and reasonably priced (look for specials-I think it was only $20 or $25 per person to enter). Good Luck! My daughter and her friends had a blast. (04/12/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I think the fashion show may not be a good idea if you plan on having guys there. If not then it is a super good idea. If you do have boys then you should do contests such as limbo and hula hoops. One thing you absolutely need is a disco ball and a DJ, that should make your party a blast. (04/12/2008)

Well I'm really into dirt bikes and that was what my cake was. I got a huge wooden board and painted it and wrote Julia's birthday party on it. If you're looking for a theme make it something you like such as a hobby or just a color theme. If you're having a boy/girl party don't make the theme too girly, make it something everyone will enjoy. Oh and make sure to have plenty of snacks and music :) (04/15/2008)

Well I'm not sure what you're into, but for my 13th birthday I went to fun junction and played laser light tag. Then when we were done everyone came back to my house and we had a bonfire and camped in the backyard. At first I was just going to stay home and have a girls only party with a chocolate theme, but then I decided to have boys which is where I got the idea to play laser light tag. :] (05/01/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I just turned 13 recently and am having the classic birthday party debate. I have decided to hold my party in the summer so I don't have to worry about 'drama' over who is and isn't invited. Also, I want to invite boys because I hang out with boys a lot. I was thinking of taking a group of people to Dorney Park (an amusement park/water park). I did this two years ago as well, and it was so much fun! I think I might possibly do this again, but invite boys as well and make the party bigger. One of the benefits of this party is you do not have to worry about set-up, clean-up, or entertaining a bunch of 12 and 13 year-olds. Another benefit is I can buy discounted tickets through my township, so it is just as expensive as if I held the party myself, which would be much more difficult. Maybe some of you will enjoy this party as well. I hope this was helpful ! (05/02/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
My 13th bday is in about two weeks. I have decided to take ten of my closest friends to an amusement/water park place and it's going to be really fun. On our way back, we're splitting into two teams and going to value village. My name is Rachel so each team has to find an item for every letter of my name. The person who finds all the stuff last has to wear it to dinner. I think it's always fun to have an elaborate party but as long as your with your friends, whatever you do will be fun. Good luck! Last year for my 13th I had a masquerade costume party. It was really good. I had all my friends and we played party games like wink murder. We had a buffet that my mum made, it was really simple and fun. If you're on a tight budget, then do it yourself and get family and friends to help. (05/25/2008)

My birthday is in October, and it is really freezing then. I just decided to have a birthday party in June because I will be able to pass out invitations and it will be very hot (hopefully). Anyway, I am on a really tight budget so I am just going to have a little party at my house.
We have a little house thing in our backyard, so we put a disco ball up and I have an ipod dock so we can blast music (trying not to disturb the neighbors) =] We will have a cookout with chips, pop, maybe subs, or pizza. Oh, and the cake. We will dance and have contests. I am inviting about 15 girls and 8 boys so it will be fun, hopefully. We will have races, and can't forget the presents. (05/31/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Okay, you're probably stuck on ideas for your daughter's 13th birthday party if you're on this site. I am a very good party planner and have 13th birthday packages that you are going to LOVE!
Limo party: You've probably heard this before. It's a classic, and one of my client's favorites. A Limo picks you up and you go to a restaurant, water park, or somewhere fun. Then you head back to your house for a sleepover. It's quite interesting, fun, and perfect.
Spa Party: All you do is go to Wal-Mart, pick out LOTS of beauty supplies, and go crazy! Set up a hair station, manicure, pedicure, make-up, facial, etc. Serve spa food and read those silly teen magazines. If you'd like, you can ask your guests to bring a fancy dress then go out to dinner. I've had clients put a spin on it and do all this then go to a restaurant where 30-50 of their friends are and they had a party. It's a cool party and can be as expensive as you want it to be.
Holiday Party: This isn't as popular, but has been a joy among the select few who have chosen it. Pick out 5-7 of your child's favorite Holidays and theme it around those. Make your own Holiday! You can have a feast like Thanksgiving, Stockings for goody-bags to represent Christmas, Costume Dance for Halloween, Give back "Valentines" for Thank-you Cards, etc. Be creative!
Chocolate Party: It's amazing how far a Chocolate Fountain can go. Set one up and give your guests cup-fulls of stuff to put in it. Then give out Gourmet Chocolates for party favors. Even watch Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, or The Chocolate Touch. (06/05/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
My party is in June. I'm doing a hotel party. My friends and I are staying in a suite and are going to do things like paint nails, watch movies, and go swimming. I can't wait! Another idea for other people that I did last year is ice skating. I did that last year, and it was so fun, but it was because everyone I invited knew how to skate. Also, it's fun when it's hot out so you feel like it's winter again when you're inside the rink. (06/09/2008)

For my party I'm doing a bonfire at the beach with boys and girls. We might play some games and we'll have music playing and then all the girls spend the night at my house. We'll have a camp out in tents in my backyard. I'm super excited. (06/21/2008)

I'm turning 13 on August 25th, which is the first day of school this year, so I am going to have my party on the 23rd at a really nice hotel downtown. We'll go to a really popular pizza place in walking distance of the hotel, then use a whole bunch of beauty supplies and go swimming and watch movies. I think it will be really fun! (07/10/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Try a 50's or Grease themed party. Invite as many people as you want, rent a big room, and invite your guests to dress up. For girls, pick your closest girl friends out of the invites and dress up as the Pink Ladies, while you dress up as Sandra Dee. For guys, same thing but you dress up as Danny Zucko while your closest friends are the Thunderbirds. Have a sock hop, get old fashioned soda, watch Grease, have a Dance-off like in the movie, and then after have your closest friends sleep over. Tons of FUN! (07/17/2008)
RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I have an idea, I'm not positive if it is the best but here it is. How about a medieval birthday party? Like from 1200 AD or something. And have the birthday girl be like the queen and everyone else would be her beautiful or handsome villagers. And you could have iced tea instead of real tea with tea cups. Unless you like regular tea. And wear clothing like medieval people, like old dresses and shirts and pants. Have little pastries and donuts and whatever you want to pick as your food. Have a fantastic 13th birthday! (07/18/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I have a couple of ideas for birthday parties. One of the themes I thought of is a fear factor party. Set up different competitions.. but keep them fun. For example: you could have a bucket for each person filled with water, have a couple of medium-large items in there that will be hard to get past. Also, put a gumball at the bottom. Each person has to put their hands behind their backs and only use their mouth to try to get the gumball. The first person to blow a bubble wins! My friend had this challenge at her birthday party and the item she used was real chicken legs. It was gross.. but really fun. You can go with games that are very entertaining.. but maybe not everyone will like (it depends on your guests), or you could use some more simple, but fun games. :) I hope I helped you. (07/23/2008)

For my 12th birthday last year, I invited around ten friends and we rented a gym that is usually used for gymnastics. There were a couple trampolines and some other fun equipment. The instructors taught us some tricks and later on we had cake and pizza. Overall, it was fun and everyone enjoyed it. There is probably a gym like that somewhere near you. The place I went to was called All Star Gymnastics. Hopefully you find a good idea! Good luck :)

Last year for my sister's 13th birthday party, she brought around five friends (boys and girls) and went go karting. It was really fun. Depending on your location you can probably invite more than five. But however many people you wish to invite is up to you. It's really fun and both guys and girls enjoy it. After that, we went home and had pizza and cake. I hope my idea helps. Good luck! (07/23/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
For my 13th Birthday I am thinking about having a color theme birthday. That means on everyone's invitation I will assign a color to them, and they will wear a dress or something nice that is the color assigned to them. I will pick them up from their house with a limo, and we will go to a fancy restaurant. (Before I pick the girls up from their houses, my mom will leave her car in front of the restaurant, so that we can drive to the hotel in that.) After that we will go to a hotel and watch movies and hangout all night. In the morning we might go to a little breakfast spot and have breakfast then I will drop them back off at home. (08/12/2008)

I turn thirteen the 29th of November (I know it's a long time away but I'm just so excited). Anyway, I'm thinking of an inside sun and surf party. We will decorate with a sandbox and lots of fun beach towels and a lots of streamers. Then you eat Hawaiian style pizza (ham, pineapple, onion) and drink frozen drinks out of cocktail glasses.

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I like the idea of a Hollywood theme. You could have your parents and other relatives as waiters bring in food on round silver plates, or you could have a big posh dinner and then give awards for the best celebrity look alike.

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I finally got an idea. I'm going to invite 20 people and make a CD of my favorite music and dance all night in my backyard (it's really big out there). I'm gonna serve pizza and borrow my family friend's chocolate fountain. It really suits me because it doesn't cost that much money on my mum, but it is still pretty fun =D (09/11/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I was thinking about going go karting cause it sounds like fun. Sleepovers are always fun too. And whoever doesn't know what activities to do, here are some fun ones. These can be played with both boys and girls.
1. Water Balloon Volleyball: Get 2 sheets, water balloons, and something to toss these over. All you do is play volleyball with the water balloons. You throw them back and forth using only the sheets.
2. Psychiatrist: You need at least 3 people to play this game. Have one person be the psychiatrist and the other 2 (or more) have a disease. The psychiatrist will try and guess the other people's diseases by asking questions. You can play on teams too. Some diseases: Obsessed with a certain word. Mute. Only says 1 word for every answer. Hates a certain word.
Hope you can use these ideas! They are great for big groups to play! :)

How about a Chocolate party with chocolate fountains, hot chocolate and fun games. The game I am going to do is called "What's in your purse?". You make a list of what is normally in a purse. Ask them to bring their purse and whoever has the most items wins a prize. (09/24/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Hey guys. I turn thirteen in December and I have a lot of ideas but don't know which one to do. I think I am doing an all girls party. Here are some ideas:
Hula/Luau party
50's, 60's, 70's, or 80's party
Mall scavenger hunt
If your birthday is in the summer:
Swim party
Backyard bbq
Fashion show party
Chocolate party
Rent a limo and go somewhere. Maybe a nice dinner with friends.
Beach bonfire
Spa party
Laser tag party
Dance party
Masquerade ball/dance
Here are some game ideas for parties:
Fashion game: Buy some cheap t-shirts, buttons, pins, ribbons, and those cool pens that draw on shirts and then your guests can design their own shirt and then model their creation.
What's in your purse: In your invitation, ask your quests to bring their purses. Then make a list of things you might find in a purse. The person who has the most things on the list wins.
Truth or Dare: A classic game: Just make sure no one feels uncomfortable
Song game: Make a CD of songs that you and your friends like. Then play a song and the first person to guess it, wins.
Hope this helped! Have a great birthday! (10/09/2008)

This is what I'm doing: Having a party with another one of my friends because our birthdays are really close together. Anyway, we are having a dance and the theme is pink black and white. Every fifteen minutes during the party we throw out prizes to people such as t-shirts, nerf footballs, etc. We also have glow sticks for everybody as they walk in, and after we are having people over to spend the night. Hope that gave you some ideas! (10/25/2008)

This is for a boy-girl party. Well, sometimes dance parties can get really awkward if you are throwing it so you might want to opt towards something less weird. Ooh, you could go to a water park for the day with your boy friends and girl friends. If it's in the winter you can go sledding or something and do cool stuff outside. In the summer you can really do anything that involves being outside, like going to the beach or something like that. You can also go to a fun restaurant and have dinner. Hope I helped. (12/07/2008)

My daughter's turning 13 and I don't know what to do! She turns 13 on Friday, July 13th. She wants to take a couple of friends to Six flags or water country. I'm skeptical on this because, well...big park, lots of people - 1 adult... plus the money.
My thought was to have her have 5 friends sleepover (as usual), plan for a pool party that night and next day (as usual) but then surprise her with a limo and dinner Friday night, then come home to freaky, scary movies that they all love to watch! (since it is Friday the 13th!). Downfall, I know the limo and dinner will cost a quite a bit of money too.
Any other idea's? Always open to suggestions.

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
I think if you daughter wants to go to Six Flags with a couple of friends, you should respect what she wants to do. You can get discount coupons from the grocery stores and pack a big picnic where you can get your hand stamped and go out to the car to eat lunch. Our Six Flags has a water park included in it. They also have refillable mugs that you can buy for 6 or 7 dollars each and refills are only $1 or $2. That should last them.
Then let her have her friends spend the night, pop some popcorn and watch those horror flicks! The whole thing should be around $100. Lots cheaper than a limo and dinner out! (06/22/2007)

Movie Mania Party (Sleepover)
Each attendee gets a Goodie Pail (Dollar Store).
Each Pail contains - a bag of un-popped microwave popcorn and a can of soda, and an assortment of fun girlie things such as lip gloss, hairclips, ribbons, hair brush, funky nail buffer, nail polish, eye shadow, liquorice, candy bar, a teen magazine etc.
Have 5 suitable DVD's for the girls to "vote" on.
Set the DVD covers up and in front of each movie, place a cup or small bowl.
To Vote, each girl is given 10 pennys, they get to vote with the pennys putting them in the bowl of the movie they want to see. The movie with the most pennys in the bowl at "showtime" gets played.
Intermission is the end of the first movie, at which time you could serve birthday cake, sodas, or whatever, and the attendees could give the Party Girl her presents, pop some more popcorn and on to the next feature.
The Goodie Pails including all the fun stuff will probably run you about $60.00 at the Dollar Store. I am not up on movie rentals, but if they are $3.00 each to rent, that's another $15.00, with cake, sodas, and munchies about $120 in total. Not bad really, and I can tell you the Girls will have fun.
My Sister did this for her birthday recently. She actually had sidewalk chalk at the end of the walk way up to the house, so guests could draw their "Star" on the Sidewalk of Fame. It was a riot, we had the best night. By the way, my Sister was 42yrs old!

If you bank with Chase Bank, you can get 4 tickets for $99, just took my 13 yr old son there - that's what he wanted. http://www.sixflags.com/national/Tickets/chase.aspx
We tailgated in the parking lot for lunch and dinner (sandwiches, chips, plenty of water and other sports drinks, salads) and never bought a single thing from the restaurants and vendors inside the park, except for the photo of them coming down on the coaster that the park's computer automatically takes. That way he had a momento. Happy Bday kiddo! (06/23/2007)

Well maybe your daughter would like to go to the mall for a shopping date with her and her friends, then after they could probably go to Great Wolf Lodge located in Kansas City, Mo (if your already located in KC then you should be able to find it easily). You could either stay the night there or just swim there and then go out to dinner where ever she likes to go. If you go to Great Wolf Lodge then they will already have breakfast, lunch and dinner there at the lodge. They have an inside and outside pool, a kid spa and an adult spa, an arcade, and alot of more fun things to do there. (06/27/2007)

Don't go bowling because it goes really quick and is boring! For my friends party we are camping in her back garden. For my birthday party I had 6 friends over to my house and we got this company called 'Pamper Me' to come. Each person got to chose 2 beauty treatments like nails painted, makeover, mini facail, and a few others. While we were waiting for our treatments we made non-alcoholic cocktails and had a foot spa! RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Hey! I'm also turning thirteen soon, and am celebrating my birthday with one of my best friends since her birthday is near to mine. I think throwing a party with another person is a good idea because then you can split the cost and it doesn't end up being too pricey.
Anyway, since we have around 50 people on our guest list, we are renting the teen center at a nearby YMCA. The teen center near us has a dance floor, large sound system that your daughter can play all of her favorite music on, a variety of different video games like the Nintendo Wii, Ps2, and DDR, and also games like pool, foosball, and air hockey. It is also a pretty large room, and it's really not that expensive to rent. You can usually pick up a brochure at the teen center if you have one near you.
Hope this helped! Good luck, and happy birthday to your daughter. Adriana

A party idea
You can still surprise her with a limo ride but instead have the limo drive her home and just have something like pizza. (10/19/2007)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
You could always do a big cook out at a park and rent out a shelter and play games. Like set up a volleyball net or something and decorate the shelter with something simple. As for the cook out...look at amazon.com and then search gourmet foods. They have pretty good prices and I have heard that the food is good. And if you rent out a shelter at a park you can invite a lot of people because there will probably be a lot of space. After the park party have your daughter invite a few friends back over to your house to sleepover. Since her birthday is in July (depending on where you live) you might want to pick one of the cooler days in July.
And if she doesn't want to do this party, you could always ask another family member to acompany you to the six flags theme park. That will be another set of eyes to keep watch over your daughter and her friends. My friend did her thriteenth birthday at Islands of Adventure and there were four girls including her and she had bought orange and yellow t-shirts and went to a place and had some design printed on them so we could all easily keep track of each other. RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Talk to your daughter about the money situation and then ask her if she has any alternative ideas. Maybe instead of the sleepover just do the limo and dinner. Or have the limo pick up each of the girls at their houses and take them to your house. Have at least one parent for each girl come, dressed in black and white, and put on a fancy, fun, (inexpensive) dinner for the girls with their parents as the waiters. You can even have the girls dress up. Good luck! (01/12/2008)

I think that it is wonderful you want to make sure that your daughter will have a great party! Growing up I was very poor now my grandchildren get to see me as the type of grandma that does not like to dwell on the materials of life. So if your daughter is a sweet loving type of girl, I'm sure she would be happy with inviting a few friends over and spending quality time, but hey I'm 80 years old! lol I'm probably a little old school for you but I hope this helps! God bless you! (01/21/2008)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Some companies offer discounted tickets to their employees, you should check for tickets at Costco and check the group rates at six flags. Six girls and 1 adult is sufficient provided you lay down some rules. Go online and get the park layout and have your daughter and her friends plan their day at the park by picking out the rides they will all enjoy, as I have found not every child likes to ride the same rides. Pack a lunch (in a cooler) and return to your vehicle to eat at a pre-arranged time, also bring a cake to sing Happy Birthday to your daughter. (01/25/2008)

If you like to help people you could have a causes party everyone must bring a small amount of money and people team up and make a presentation on there chosen charity then everyone votes for the best one and the one with the most votes wins and gets all the money and your parents give some money too so the charity benefits and you and our friends do to! also you may want to have some music so people have something else to do to !! hope i helped! good luck! Hire a swimming pool, provide own music and food. Tuna sandwiches with mayonnaise always a big hit! Skating, bowling, ski-ing, meal out, cinema, golf range with meal. Children's gym hour pass and take to local restaurant afterwards. (11/06/2006)

Have a murder mystery party! I had one last year and everyone loved it! You can either buy a kit at the store, or make a story up yourself! I made mine but it took literally 20 hours. (12/04/2006)

I'm having my 13th soon and I am having a pool party at the local swimming centre. I have invited 11 friends. There are lots of waterslides and activities there so it should be really fun. After the party a few of my friends are sleeping over. (12/05/2006)

My friend had the best party last month! She got a hotel room in a hotel nearby (her dad owns the hotel) and she had like 12 people there. 3 were guys so only the girls slept over. We saw a movie downtown then went to the lobby to open presents, play spin the bottle 'hug edition' and truth or dare after the guys left at 9. WE went to the pool and played games w/the guys. For dinner we had Chinese and cake. All in all it kinda owned. (01/07/2007)
If u live near a beach you could go to the beach, even if it's freezing outside, it's still fun. You can have cake and pizza and open your presents on the beach, then go back to your house to have a sleepover if you want.'

I like the idea of a Hollywood theme and have people show up at your house. You could have a red carpet like on the front walkway and my parents could be the paparazzi. Interviews sound awesome. I'm gonna do that for my party.(01/15/2007)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
if you are having a smaller birthday (10 people) have a human clue game, you make up your own rules, like skip a turn or get a partner or get a prize. Also having auctions and the dice game is fun!

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Last year for my daughter we had a "Night at the Oscars" birthday and it was a blast. We got some old prom gowns, jewelry and shoes from our teenage babysitters. The girls were all given a famous persona (ie. Julia Roberts, etc.) We had 4 adults there to do makeup and hair for all the girls. We ate Chinese food, opened presents. Then we had the red carpet event. I got a huge piece of red fabric from the local store and laid it down the hall way. We bought little Oscar statues from the local trophy store. We had a presenter call for the "star" to come up and accept their award. Then we had someone interview each of them and ask the typical red carpet questions. We filmed the whole thing then laughed and laughed watching it later. One of the girls tripped and fell on the red fabric and we called it an outtake. We did a photo shoot with the digital camera and gave everyone pictures. It was really really fun and you can pull it together with a minimal budget if you can get some old dresses and stuff. Good luck! (02/08/2007)

I think kids nowadays are just so into themselves therefore they grow up as selfish individuals. Why not do something for somebody else. Give the gift of love and charity. Volunteer your time, donate your money to the needy that would've been spent on "your" birthday party instead. It is so fulfilling. (03/02/2007)

Last year I had this fab Hawaiian themed party. We had a limbo contest, a parrot shaped pinata, a mad makeover session and this top game where you tie balloons to everyones feet and you have to try and pop your friends by stamping on them. Later, we enjoyed mocktails, DVDs, and sweets! Give it a go and I guarantee that your party will rock your friends socks. (03/30/2007)

You guys are thinking too hard just invite your friends to your house and then hang out, you can rent an inflatable slide or something, have lots of food and drinks set up outside your house and just chill.your friends will love the slide and the girls can sleepover after the party. (04/10/2007)

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
What about a Karoke theme? With just a little thought you can make it really exciting. Contests such as best singer, best group, and so on.

I am having a 13th birthday in September. I am having it at a local hall and, of course, it's a dance party but I don't know what else to do. What if they get bored of just dancing and this party has to be PERFECT. I was thinking of doing a mini fashion show during the party but I don't know if people will like that. I need to know what to do! Please help!
Thank you,

I just turned 13 and i had this party and it was "camper sheek". I just had 13 of my friends over and spent the night making smores, telling secrets and ghost stories. I totally recommend that! (06/15/2006)

A Hollywood party sounds fun. Have everyone dress as glamorously as possible or even as their favorite media star. A "red carpet" would be nice to step out of the limo onto. Your parents could take lots of flash pictures as "stars" walk the red carpet. Movie sound track music would be good. How about trays of fancy finger-food and bubbly soft-drinks in plastic stemware. You could have a parent tape interviews and video everyone. Karaoke (sorry about spelling) would be fun too. Hope these ideas help. (06/21/2006)

Well my B-day is on july 4th so I thought it would be fun to have fireworks and marshmallows. I also know all my friends like movies and if your watching a movie it goes over well with everyone. Also, you have to make sure you have music and food in case your just sitting and decide to dance or just talk. Trust me, I've had parties like that all the time and it's never boring. (06/24/2006)

I'm tuning 13 on july 26th and I'm really excited! I'm going to invite 5 of my closest friends and we are going to have all colored lights hanging in my basement. We are going to blast music, watch movies, have makeovers and tie die pillow cases. We will also order pizza and eat cake. All my friends are really excited and I suggest you try something like it.

RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Ok listen everyone do not freak out! Remember most of the people you are inviting for your big thirteen are coming for YOU not the party! Listen there are some very basic games to play like...
Motor mouth and other stuff! I suggest you start with a little soft music. You have a quiet room with no music so that people who wanna take a break from the dance floor can chill out, eat and play some board games or cards in that room. Remember IF POSSIBLE: little drinks with umbrellas are a must because they so cute! more fun things to do are maybe having them bring there swimsuits and have a water balloon fight! you could probably have karaoke and an american idol thing. just remember most of your guests are there for YOU not the PARTY. RE: 13th Birthday Party Ideas
Maria, the limo is a great idea but i don't think that the boys would like the fashion show. They would probably get bored and leave but if you get a good DJ, crank up the tunes, and have good food and drinks then you should be fine! (08/14/2006)

You could have a black and white birthday party. Have the girls dress up all formal and have the guys in kakis and a white shirt. Kinda formal but if you have a lot of dancing and great food it should be a blast!
