Raisin Ribbon Bars
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup jam or preserves, any flavor
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. beat together butter and brown sugar. Stir in flour, oats and walnuts. Reserve 1 cup for topping. Press remaining oat mixture into lightly greased 8x8 inch square pan. Combine raisins and jam. Spread to within 1/2 inch of edges. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture; press lightly. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Makes 20 bars.
