RE: Highschool Party Suggestions
My son and his friends planned their own. They wanted burgers on the grill, plus other picnic type foods. Some of them even brought food to share. They helped organize, set-up and more importantly clean-up. We allowed them privacy -- they were on the deck, we were in the kitchen. Later they played volley ball, went fishing and went swimming. They had a blast. I think that the idea of them getting involved made it more fun for them. This party was just for them. We don't live very close to our immediate family so it would be very difficult to have a family graduation party.

For food try make your own sub sandwich-cold cuts, mayo, mustard, pickles, lettuce, tomatos, etc. For dessert make your own ice cream sundae-chocolate, vanilla, strawberry ice cream, and various toppings. If you use a beach party or luau theme you could give everyone cheap sunglasses as a party favor. You could also have a water balloon fight if you don't have a pool.

Beach Party......Lawn chairs, umbrellas. Night party? Use those little lights they sell for patio umbrellas. Set up a big sand box for castle building. Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley music. Tiki torches. No pool? How about a kiddy pools or slip and slide? Make non alchoholic blender drinks.
