Garden: Iris

I love flowers, especially perennials...more every year is fantastic. More to view, more to share, and more varieties always being developed. I just wish people would share more than they do. So many are root bound and in need of dividing, but people don't seem to see the opportunity to be generous and share.

Beautiful flowers, Linda. I have to agree with you. People should share their garden's bounties with others. I have given away flowering quince runners, a couple quince bushes, some Menardo Humming bird plants, and Speedwell, another hummer magnet. A widow on low income was the recipient of my three tomato plants I did not use. And this fall, I hope to divide my perennials and share them with so many folks who also love to garden.

Garden: Iris

Photo of Iris after wateringThis is an iris that lives in my Mom's garden. They surprise me every year with how beautiful they can be. Sadly they only last a couple weeks in spring, so I only have a limited amount of time to get all my iris pictures for the year.

I have many colors of iris, that were so pretty until the wind came and tore them apart. These turned out the best.

These are so beautiful! I love iris. Some of my favorite memories of childhood are linked to Mama's iris. (05/30/2010)
